Has anyone rented from Enterprise after returning from their cruise? What is the process like getting to the car rental location. It looks like it's pretty close, can you walk from the port to the rental location? How long did it take you to get your vehicle? Did things go smoothly?

My only concern is that we usually rent a full-sized SUV and the biggest thing they have available is a minivan (I think it's comparable but if I recall correctly we actually had more luggage space in the SUV which is why we had been going with that as a rental for WDW in previous years).

I don't think walking would really be an option. It isn't on a city street. The port is in more of an industrial area and not really pedestrian friendly. I beleive all of the rental car companies have shuttles from the port.

I actually do uber over the port there, so ive shuttled people to and from that location. They do have a free bus which im told is every 20-30 minutes, depending how backed up the traffic at the port is. You absolutely cannot walk from Disney or Carnival as theres no sidewalk that goes over that bridge, and theres a fence as well blocking the way. If youre coming into CT1 (royal caribbean) you can walk but its not exactly close.

Have rented from this Enterprise location a few times. It's way too far to walk. It's probably 2 to 3 miles from the terminal.
We did have a huge issue with them one year. We were at the stop waiting for the shuttle to come pick us up and they never came....called several times and were always told they were on their way. It's less than 10 minutes from the rental office to the terminal. The shuttle kept going back to the same ships and not coming to DCL. We waited over 90 minutes before it finally showed up!!!! This was 'pre' Uber. Anyway, by the time we got there selection was pretty pathetic. We then got to wait while they sent an employee to retrieve a bigger vehicle from another office that was supposed to be close by. That was another 45-60 minutes wasted. We haven't been back to that office since then. I reserved one with them the following year, but we stopped by Budget before cruising and they beat my Enterprise rental price. Budget at PC rarely has anything small. So if you reserve small, chances are very great you will get a substantial upgrade. We now use Budget at PC (several times) with wonderful success!
Good Luck!!

Enterprise moved ... it is now "in" the port rather than down A1A

however as mentioned the DCL terminal is on the north side of the port and Enterprise is on the south side. The draw bridge is not pedestrian friendly and I've seen security stop people setting off that direction to try anyway. If you did make it over the bridge you'd find fences stopping you from a direct walk to the Enterprise location ....

recommendation ... use the shuttle ... the distance is short so the turn around should be quicker now ...

The problem was they kept going back to the same 2 ships instead of rotating ships. So even if it's quicker, if they don't take turns and pick up Disney last (like they did with us), the selection is still going to be poor....jmho based on previous experience.

FWIW on Enterprise's website there are still two Cape Canaveral locations. I could still make a reservation for the Atlantic Ave location vs the new place on Mullet. So be careful which one you choose.

a word of warning

there is one experience at Port C if there is one or two ships turning around ...

and some days there are four or five AND a visiting ship ..... the Port LOVES these days ($$$) and all the rental offices are operating at 3 times capacity ... or not operating if you prefer.

I have seen that the signs are still up at the old A1A location ... but the lot appears to be FULL of newly delivered vehicles and I've not seen a shuttle parked there in some time, or anyone pulling in out. (last checked yesterday, I drive by frequently, usually on cruise days at the times the rental places are busy. For example yesterday ... Thrifty and AVIS were buzzing and the old Nat/Ent/Al location ... dark) Not disputing the address is still listed .... there was (is) another Cocoa location as well .... just dunno how correct the site IS. FWIIW

I went all the way to the "make this reservation" button on the site for that address. Maybe later I'll log into dh's account and finish it to see what happens.

Thanks for the info. We're arriving in port on a Friday morning so I'm hoping perhaps it's not as insane as over the weekends.

looks like the old location has more restricted hours

only open til noon on Sat and closed on Sunday ....
