So I know what the site says, however, I know people that were actually on the program and not in school. How exactly do they check your enrollment status. They don't ask for that information and I am sure they dont call every school to see..Anybody know?!

Very good question... I've wondered this as well.

They actually do call your school to make sure you are enrolled there and that you are allowed to do the program. Its not like there is only one person calling every school. I don't know exactly who does the calling, but I heard its a big group of people who do. I've never heard of anyone who did the program but were not enrolled in school yet. The only ones I know who were in the program and not in school had already graduated the semester before the program. Also, I think the people you are talking about that were not enrolled in school was in the Career Start program, which is the same as the College Program except its for recently graduated high school students. They stay in the same apartments with cps, except there is fewer roles in the program which they are allowed to choose from.

The Career Start program is also for people who would like to do the program and are within four years of them graduating.

They are supposed to call and check. Obviously they goofed then.

they used to send an email listing to a contact at each school. they don't do that any longer. they have a thing online that is constantly updated that a school contact has access to. which is good since a school could have a few people do the epresentation weeks/months before or after a campus presentation. the school is asked to verify that the person is enrolled and taking classes and meets whatever requirements the school may have (GPA, major, credit hours, etc.)

disney depends on the schools to provide accurate information.

if the school says that someone isn't enrolled there, then that persons recruiter will call them to talk about it. like to see if they put down the incorrect school

if a school says that someone doesn't meet their requirements, they are also contacted about that too.

source of my info: I asked college recruiting directly and a good friend of mine used to work in recruiting.

plus people not in school could be those who already graduated, were in school when they applied and interviewed and took a semester off during their program, or on another program that doesnt require college enrollement like careerstart. yeah, there are probably a few who slip by, but they are really the exceptions.

my friend told me about an arrival where they had someone show up who had been told several times that they could not participate. housing sent the guy over to the recruiting office who then told him to head back north.

As khancock said, it may just be that they were enrolled when they applied and either graduated, or took the semester off – if I remember correctly, the website only says that you have to be enrolled in school when you apply. But also, when you say the person wasn’t enrolled, do you mean they weren’t associated with any school at all or just that they weren’t taking any classes (online or through Disney). My previous school (where I was during my CP) considered you to be a full time student just for doing the program, and didn’t require you to take any additional classes to keep that status.
