Enjoying the BWV and the Flower & Garden Festival

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us! It looks like a great time to go - perhaps when I am done teaching, we can make a getaway during this time. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the pictures. we will be at the flower and garden for the last day only, but will be at Epcot the whole day and nite. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and information. We are DVC members and own at AKV. Next week will be our first stay at BWV but we are NOT staying on points. This is a cash visit through CRO.
My question is; are there different rooms assigned to guests going through CRO and NOT those using member's points?
I have a standard view studio booked and wondered what type of view and location we might get. My only request will be a non-handicap accessible room.
CRO booking categories are not the same as the DVC booking categories. With CRO, room assignments are pretty much "Run of the House", which nearly always ends up as a Pool/Garden View at the BWV.

AFAIK, they do not treat cash guests differently than points guests (except no one who books for cash can get a Boardwalk view room as those are reserved for those staying on points).

FWIW, I think it is a mistake to request "Non" anything. Too easy for a room assigner in a hurry to pass over the "Non" and just see the "Handicapped-Accessible". So by requesting Non HA, you actually have a better chance of getting one than if you made no request at all. Better to ask for what you want. I suggest you call MS and ask to change your request to "Need a Tub". The HA studios do not have them.

Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for the photos! We're staying AKV (Concierge :woohoo:) but focusing mostly on F & G. I hope to get better pics of the topiaries, and all the color than I have in the past. We arrive May 9th, and it's getting hard to wait.

Thanks for all the info. I called to make my request this morning and the reservationist said she wrote in the notes; "No special room".
She said in her experience the room assignors call the handicap accessible rooms "special rooms".

Thanks for posting your trip pictures. We have not stayed at BWV before, but would like to in the future. Do you have any other pictures of the renovated rooms? I loved the pictures from the Flower and Garden Festival!!

We found that for several trips in a row that we were always being assigned a handicap accessible room. After several attempts at switching rooms, management finally told us to actually make the Non HA room request so that has been a standard request on all of our reservations since. We are sure that there are many different ways that the request can be made.

Also good to know that requests for preferences made with MS seem to stay on the reservation while using online check-in. We were kind of wondering if using the online check-in process may have actually overwritten or dropped any room preferences created by MS.

Have a fantastic trip! Love the pics!

I love, love, love all your pictures. We haven't been able to get back to the F & G show for a few years now and it looks just as beautiful as I remember.

We had the 123 room in January. The balcony was huge, but unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy it. The lighting was poor, but the living room more than made up for it.

Thanks for posting. I'll be watching for more pics.

This will be the first time in 5 years that we will not be staying at BWV! :sad1: We have three trips planned and had to optimize our points. But now that I see all these pretty BWV pictures, I just want so badly to go back there!!!

Great pictures Carol, thanks for sharing :goodvibes and it sounds like a great week to visit with low crowds. We too have not ever been assigned to a x123 villa but we've never made that specific request anyhow just near walking path/canal etc., last trip we had 3121 which we liked alot for its location & the balcony extended across both lr & br.

Have a fun trip :)

Thanks for sharing your TR and photos! I want to live in the little stone cottage in Victoria Gardens in Canada's pavilion (great picture of it BTW)!

A few more topiaries - we go home tomorrow. :sad1:

Love your photos and report, Carol. That teacup lamp is darling. Loved the topiaries especially Bambi.

How far is self parking from the standard rooms? And how far is the walk to DHS from that area? Thanks.

If you go out the door that leads to the bus stop, self parking is quite close. It's just across the street from the bus stop.

DHS is less than 10 minutes from that area - you go out the doorway that leads to the leisure pool and out to the pathway. Quick & easy!
