We are going to Disney World this year and thought it would be a great time to have our engagement picture taken. I was wondering for those of you who had your engagement photo taken at Disney do you have any suggestions on the best spots to go?

My other question is, we are having a family member just go around with us and take our engagement photo, is this against Disney Policy?

I'm sorry I can't really suggest "best spots"...there are just too many to choose from!!;) In front of the castle, around the grounds at your favorite resort, your favorite places/rides in the parks...

As for your other question, you can definitely have a family member take pics. I expect if they look too much like a "professional" and you are in the parks, you might get a question or two, but most likely not. *Technically* Disney does not allow professional photography sessions in the parks, unless they are the ones taking the pictures!;)

We're also having our engagement shoot in November when we go to WDW. I figured it would be a great time to get to know our photographer and how well we can "mesh".

Since DF and I bought into Saratoga Springs - and it is our "home away from home" we're going to use that as our location. Misty said finding nice places shouldn't be hard - in fact she said "the parking lots are even nice!" :rotfl:

We took our engagement photos at the Yacht and Beach club. Our wedding reception was at Atlantic Dance Hall, and by taking photos at the Y&BC, ADH was in the background.

We used Randy Chapman for our wedding photos, and our package included an engagement session. You could have a family member take the photos for you, hire Disney to do it, or use one of the outside vendors (like Randy).
