Engagement ideas needed!

Hi all,

I'm planning to propose to my bf on our September trip (so not far away), kind of a last minute decision! We've been together for 5.5 years now, I introduced him to WDW in 2011 and he loves it (not quite as much as me though!) so thought it's the ideal place.

The thing is...we're not ones for being centre of attention, so I'm looking for some ideas on how to go about it.

We are both simple guys as well, not wanting to draw attention.
My guy loves room service at the hotel so our first morning in Florida we had ordered breakfast room service. I answered the door and slipped the ring on the butter plate as the guy wheeled the cart into the room. Then I just let him discover it.
I knew he would be giving me mine sometime during the trip and he did so on a bench in front of the Great Movie Ride since I am such a movie fan.

Somewhat off the beaten path - the Disney Wedding Pavillion is walking distance to the Grand Floridian and Poly ( GF is a bit closer ). You could take a walk over that way and catch the MK fireworks at the same time.

Unless there is a wedding going on you should have the place pretty much to yourselves.

I'm sure most places will be rather subtle about it should you say choose to propose at your favourite restaurant. Simply pull the wait staff aside and explain that you plan to propose and don't want a big deal of it, or ask that the ring be placed somewhere in the meal, but you don't want it with pomp and circumstance. I'm sure they'll understand perfectly and be willing to do so, perhaps even excited for a proposal that isn't a lot of work for them.

Otherwise I'd say just do it in your own time, it doesn't have to be a big public display but you can sit down with him on a bench in front of the castle and simply hand him the ring, or during a fireworks show, or wherever is most important for the two of you. Just don't yell it like you want to be heard and enjoy your own happiness, no public displays required.
