Hi, am in the process of booking another trip to dlp and am finding the jan prices very attractive!! I have just discovered that the xmas season finishes on 6th jan and so with leaving on the sunday 4th would get a couple of days of the end of xmas season for a real bargain price. Can anyone tell me if they have been at this time and if still has the christmassy feeling i.e is santa still there in his land and on the parade? Also with being still the xmas season, i thought that there would prob be less attraction closures?? Thanks.

I'm not sure about attraction closures, but hopefully they won't be too bad.

I know that most of the Christmas extras are scheduled to continue right through until January 6th, so if you arrive on the 4th (like we will be), then you will get 3 days of christmas magic. The only item I'm not sure about is Fantillusions (the night time parade), as the last 9pm opening is on the 4th, although it should be dark enough by 7pm when the park shuts on the 5th/6th to hold it.

well, i just went for it and booked 3nts/4days. It will be so good to get the xmas extras and hopefully with less crowds! Was just reading something about how they have the dream parade, followed by the enchanted candelbration about 1-2 hrs later and then the fantillusion about an hour after that! Prob too much to fit in when the park shuts at 7! V exciting tho!!

When are you going and where are you staying?

We have decided to try cheyenne for 4-7 jan as it was so cheap (strangely even cheaper than santa fe!) and includes 3 days of christmas shows etc. In feb this year we stayed at sequoia which was very nice, but didn't realise how little time we would actually spend there, in fact not seeing outside our window in daylight, so glad we didn't pay for lake view!Hope it's nice?

I have been a couple of times in January for the end of Christmas season, and I loved it. IMO, the crowds were better than when you go in December!

I have decided that I am booking tomorrow (pay day :rotfl2: ) for the 4th - 8th Jan so we will get some of the Christmas Parade and I am keeping it a total surprise from the kids and DH until Christmas Day.

I was wondering how weird it will be to go from Christmasy on the 6th, back to normal on the 7th.

I think you'll hardly notice.

We went about the 8th or so last year and much of the christmas decorations were still around. They don't just disappear overnight, although the snowing, the christmas parade changes etc will all stop.

Will you be joining us for the DIS meet?:goodvibes
