End of Labor Day week -- crowds and weather

My family wants to plan a trip to DL towards the end of Labor Day week of this year (the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of that week). Have the crowds usually thinned out by the end of the week? What about the weather? Just trying to make my decision. My kids start school the Monday before Labor Day and I'm trying to decide if it is OK to take them out for those 2 days the week after school starts.
If anyone has any experience with the crowd levels at the end of Labor day week, I'd love to hear.
We went last Feb. and had a blast and we are all counting down until our next trip!

While the tourist crowd has thinned, you're still going to get locals on Friday night and Saturday, so expect those days to be busy. Also, it's still very hot at that time of year. Sometimes September is hotter than the previous months.
