End of June or beginning of July?

I'm not sure if it makes much difference, the dates are so close, but would you choose June 24-29, or July 3-8?

Last year it was SO hot and crowded in June that I swore never to go back during the summer, but our March and May trips fell through this year. It's summer or nothing, so I'm trying to figure out if either of these dates has a slight edge over the other.

Earlier advice: I would choose the June dates. Both time periods will be busy crowd wise but the July dates will be busier. The weekend and Monday before July 4th will be busy.
Revised advice: Go with what DLGal said!! July dates.

Even if you prefer June, I’d book myself a backup hotel reservation for July and wait to hear more about the Fantasyland closures (Pan, Toad, Alice).

I believe avoiding these closures, as far as the parks feeling crowded, will make much more difference than the actual crowd levels.

Toad and Alice return on June 16. Peter Pan is still on refurb. I think by late June Peter Pan will be back.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. July 4th week is the best time to go to DL.

It will NOT be that crowded, I promise. Especially this year since it's not over a weekend. We do it every year, a little 3 night stay cation from the 2nd-5th. We are skipping this year (maybe) since we will be doing 9 nights at WDW later in July, but it is ALWAYS a blast, the parks are NOT that crowded, the hotels really get into the holiday and the overall vibe is really chill. You can even just walk into DL 15 minutes before the 4th fireworks and find a spot at the end of Main Street to watch.

The June dates will be worse, crowd wise, I promise. The weather can go either way. Last year it was beautiful, low to mid 80s.

DLgal has never steered me wrong so follow her advice. I retract my advice on June. But if you are looking for dining reservations...today is July 4th...get busy with those if you want certain restuarants, dessert party, etc.

Thanks! I was up early and got Oga's and Blue Bayou :) My daughter's birthday is on the 6th and she wants to do the dessert party. I didn't manage to get Fantasmic RBT premium, but will try again tomorrow for that.

Thank you! For some reason I thought the 4th would be a nightmare. Sounds like it would be nice, though! I know last year there was a heat wave while we were there, like mid-high 90s every day. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. We still had fun, but took huge 5-6 hour breaks in the afternoon instead of our usual 2-3, so it cut in on park time. I'm not as worried about the crowds, since last year we did fine using Genie+ and rope drop.

I can’t confirm this, but I had thought they weren’t selling Fantasmic dining packages until the show is back on the calendar.

On another thread, a member reported that this is what they were told by a CM on the phone.

Enjoy your daughter's birthday. You can reserve the dessert party for July 6 on Sunday morning!!

That is right. I called the Walt Disney Travel Company to make a payment on my package and asked about F! dining packages and they are currently not offered and will not be offered unti Fantasmic is back on the schedule. Then they will offer packages.

Good to know! I was so torn this morning about trying for Oga's or Fantasmic first. Tomorrow I won't bother with Fantasmic.

Now you guys have me wondering if we should go early July 2024 instead of late June! Though....we're road tripping and I know a higher number of accidents happen over holidays so I don't know. Hmm.

I'll be curious to hear how your trip goes this year!

Are the days after the 4th busy, or are those ok, too? I'd probably go from either July 3rd or 4th until July 8.
