End of January Info

Looking ahead to January 2010 (yes, I am a planner and love every minute of it!!), was wondering how the last week of January is? Hard to book for DVC members? Weather, crowds? Thanks for any info!!

Crowds are very manageable late January early February. Weather can vary significantly. You can have highs in the 70s (even into the 80s) or highs in the lower to mid 50s (and both of those can occur during the same week you are there). The "average" tends to be higher 60s to 70 but for that time of year "average" is not what to usually expect. Rain is also variable -- you could have several rainy days or none. Easy to book using 11 month window, also not difficult to get something (although not necessarily resort of chocie) at 7 month window.

I guess it depends on what resort you want. Obvioulsy the sooner you book the better. I booked the last week in January a few weeks ago for a 1 BR and my only option was SSR, which was OK with me.

As for the weather and crouds, naturally you can catch a cold snap but we've been pretty lucky. It's been in the high 70's most times. And the crowds aren't bad.

With my son in college, this would be during a semester break. So plans would be for a year from now. Just wondered if I needed to do the day by day at 11 mos (looking at a standard view studio at BWV) or if availablility was pretty plentiful at that time. Thanks for all the info!!
