Enchantment Resort - Arizona ABD - is 5 nights too long at this resort?

For those of you who have done the Arizona ABD, could one make day trips from Enchantment Resort and use it as a home base for 5 nights or is that too long in one place? I was going to do 3 or 4 nights here, but they have a "stay 4 nights, get the 5th night free" promo going on.

We plan to do a DIY following some of the ABD recommendations with a day or so doing the activities around Sedona and then day trips to the Grand Canyon. Not sure if that will be too much driving?

Is the resort nice enough and have activities to do to spend an entire day there?

The Enchantment Resort in Sedona to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way. If it were me, I'd be tired of doing that as a day trip one day into it. Why would you want to waste 5+ hours out of each of your days when you could stay in Tusayan or on the Rim? That really makes no sense to me.

Yes, makes sense. Thanks!

We are thinking about doing the trip in reverse so we don't have to pay the high weekend rates at Enchantment. Do you think the trip in reverse will work?

What do you mean by "in reverse"?

Yes it would be good in reverse. would be nice to actually end in Sedona as it is nice and relaxing vs. other parts of the trip

I'm an Arizona resident and my family travels to Sedona once a year. It is one of my favorite places to visit. However, I'd probably have a hard time justifying 4 or 5 nights there. It depends on what activities you want to do. As someone else mentioned, it's a far drive to the Grand Canyon. But, if you plan on going on several hikes in Sedona, then it might make more sense. I think the Jeep Tour departs from the Enchantment, and I do highly recommend the Jeep Tour. We also try to avoid the touristy areas, choosing less popular hikes.

We went with Austin Adventures in 2019 and we went to Sedona after our time in the Grand Canyon. It was a relaxing end to the trip.

Thank you for your replies. Yes, after looking at it more closely, 5 days would be way too long.
