"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Obviously, I had some catching up to do! I had a feeling you were gonna be missing Wishes that night... and the reason why. So sweet. And I'm glad you and Brenda got to connect before you left.

And I gotta say. That's a pretty sneaky trick getting to be the last person in Epcot. I can't believe they fell for that! :lmao:

I love the story of the little girl who sat back down so she didn't block anyone's view. What a sweetheart!

I know exactly what you mean about driving through Toronto!! It's insane. Not sure what's worse... the amount of cars driving along the QEW or the insane delays when things get backed up! Last year for my birthday we went to a Blue Jays game. We sat on the exit ramp for over an hour. Awful.

YAY for Niagara Falls!!!! I LOVE it there!!! I have found that surprises can be very hard to process when you're the one being surprised. But obviously you guys had a great time! Can't wait to see more pictures!

What happened to Sea World (Australia) Sea Viper over the last few days. Scrap metal anyone?. I hope they build another one!

I'll be honest, I didn't even know there was a Sea World in Australia. But I hope they build another one too.

It's very sad how familiar the outside of YYZ looks. But I always do get super excited seeing the Disney plane when it's there. I could never be an Air Canada traitor, but it does make me like them more ;)

Hey, surprises are overwhelming. Especially such a big one. I'm sure Riley was just like in such shock that she couldn't handle the awesomeness of everything that was happening.

Oh my goodness the Falls look so beautiful. I need to get over that way someday. Seriously, soooo beautiful.

And aww I'm glad you guys got to catch up and have a little reunited time. Yup, still my brotp.

Hahahaha, yes, WestJet would not go over well in your household. But even Marie would have to admit to considering it if the chance of riding the Disney plane came about.

I honestly do too Amber. I really do. Riley is just a very reserved and shy person, so not one to jump up and down screaming in any situation. But make no mistake, she was happy and excited and I had no doubt of that.

They are amazing. You can try to prepare yourself, but there is nothing like seeing them right there in front of you.

Oh me too. I was so happy it worked out that way. My favourite little tour guide. I knew for sure then she was happy I was there.

Oh yes, it was written in the stars that I would miss Wishes... and I have absolutely no regrets at all. And so very happy to see Brenda one last time too. A perfect ending.

I know right!!?? I'm so clever, lol.

Oh my goodness, it really was the sweetest thing Sue and probably lost on the vast majority of people there.

It's horrible. Pure and simple. I've driven in LA, and while it's crazy busy no doubt, Toronto just felt worse.

It's gorgeous. Simply gorgeous and awe inspiring. I think the surprise was the combination of legit shock and just not really knowing what to do. It had been 7 months, and we had kept in touch, but when you're shy, being too outwardly excited would just be out of character. She's just quieter. Believe me when I tell you, I have no doubt she was happy (as you will see).

"DON'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S OVER, SMILE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED"
A Very Merry Intermission - July 18, 2014 Part 2

Riley and I met back up with Carrie and Hailey, leaving the magnificent Falls for now, and started the journey back up Clifton Hill.

30.jpg

31.jpg

The girls mandated a stop for some Frozen Yogurt which was good by me; Plus, extra energy for the walk up the hill.

This place was pretty cool (no pun intended) as you made your own concoction and then it was weighed for pricing.
It’s not a cheap place, but definitely good for a treat.

32.jpg

The next mandatory stop was the Hershey store, which allowed us to cut through the beautiful Sheraton hotel.

33.jpg

It reminded me a bit of Be Our Guest.

34.jpg

And on into the Hershey Store via the Coca-Cola store.

We had purchased a Clifton Hill Fun Pass, which included admission for the Movieland Wax Museum, the Sky Wheel,
The two rides in the Canadian Midway plus 5 tokens for games, and one round of mini golf.

Our first stop would be the Wax Museum.

A little bit of Disney right at the start before you even go in.

46.jpg

Carrie thought this was the funniest thing... Eddie Murphy in "Twilight" (yes, he was technically Dr. Doolittle here).
Well, he did play a "Vampire in Brooklyn", but thankfully I don't recall him ever "twinkling" in the sunlight.

53.jpg

54.jpg

I guess they didn't get Disney's permission here.

55.jpg

56.jpg

57.jpg

Riley and her fav Sith Lord. It still surprises me that she loves Darth so much, yet has never seen any of the movies.
That needs to change.

A Very Merry Intermission - July 18, 2014 Part 2 Continued

After the Museum, we hit up the Great Canadian Midway.

58.jpg

59.jpg

60.jpg

This is just a massive arcade/fun zone where you earn tickets to trade for prizes.
I remember when I was a kid, the Contemporary Hotel had a MASSIVE arcade in it, so whenever I went missing, my parents knew where to find me.

The first order of business came when Riley challenged me to Air Hockey and I was happy to accept.

It might sound silly, but this was an absolute highlight of the day to me… Just pure fun with one of my fav people.

Then Hailey wanted to play too.

61c.jpg

So much fun!!!

The girls also tried their hands at hoops.

62.jpg

63.jpg

63a.jpg

On the way to the washroom I spotted this somewhat familiar looking sight,

64.jpg

And while I was gone, Hailey hit the jackpot on one of the games, earning 500 tickets in the process.

64b.jpg

Of course I would miss that.

All together, I think we amassed well over a thousand tickets (although I think my contribution was pretty minimal).

The Midway also has a couple of rides to enjoy which were included in our fun passes, and it actually worked out pretty perfect.

Riley doesn’t like intense thrill type rides, so Hailey and I rode the XD Theater, which is a simulator similar in concept to Star Tours.

65.jpg

Hailey, on the other hand, doesn’t do scary (she got pretty scared at some of the monster wax figures earlier),
So Riley and I rode Ghost Blasters together, which is similar to Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom.

66.jpg

We both agreed that Hailey would have freaked out in there.

We all had a blast playing around in the Midway, and the girls each got some nice prizes, but it was time to move on to something new.

On the way though, we couldn’t resist making a short pit stop because... FUDGE!!!

TO BE CONTINUED…

FroYo and going into the Hershey store? I approve of these things. Great decisions.

I'm guessing that would be a no then on the Disney approval. And I'm kinda cracking up about Doctor Dolittle in Twilight too.

Air Hockey is always a good decision. And holy goodness that is a lot of tickets. Way to go Hailey.

Mmmm fudge. Another good decision.

I am finally all caught up on your TR and your mini TR.

What a great Disney trip you had with all the Dis Meets, Frump sightings, missions being accomplished and lifelong friendships created and all the amazing memories that were made. So very happy that you love to write TR's so that we could all experience a little of that Epic trip that you had. :goodvibes

That is so great that you had such a wonderful last day at Disney and that you were able to have great moments right up to the very end. The meet up with Riley and Carrie for Illuminations, the last meeting with Brenda and the totally awesome experience of getting to walk through Epcot after the all clear and to be the very last paying guest in the park. :cool1:

Great update on your mini vacation. Okay it has been WAY too long since I was on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. A Hershey Store and that Fudge Shop!!! I wish I was there right now.

Looks like you are all having such a wonderful time together. Nice job Hailey on all those tickets. Love playing Air Hockey and Ski Ball!! :)

Looking forward to the next update and SO happy to hear that you are going back to Disney next month and planning all those new Dis Meets. :yay: Hoping that you follow it up with another TR.

That kind of froyo is VERY popular in New England...also very expensive because you think loading it up with toppings is a good idea and then you end up with a $7 froyo. Glad you enjoyed, though!

That hotel does look like BOG with the ceiling and the chandelier!

A Coca-Cola store connected to a Hershey store?! Is this heaven?!

We got that same Fun Pass! I had one of the more embarrassing moments of my life in that wax museum...there's a part where there's a wax figure taking a picture and the camera has a real flash...well, I thought it was a real person and started apologizing for getting in the way of their picture, only to realize it was a wax person. My dad never let me live that one down!

I bet Carrie was psyched to see Jack Sparrow ;)

Yeah, not sure how I feel about that Snow White scene...it all looks a little off.

The Midway is so much fun, and that fudge looks delicious!

That looks like a fun place - maybe not something to travel just for ... but while you are there definitely take advantage of it. They Hershey store looked cool - though shouldn't the giant bars and kisses be measured in Kilograms?

The passes you got seemed like a good idea that you got to try a lot of things ... and a good game of air hockey is always good for some competitive fun!

We have a ton of those frozen yogurt places by us - seem to have become a bit of a fad and seems like a new one is opening every couple of weeks. They are definitely a bit pricey but can be fun. Though I hate kinda choosing my toppings based on what are the lightest rather the ones I really want :rotfl:

Yum! The frozen yogurt looks good. I love those mix it yourself places.
Yes I would like to order a year's supply of those 5lb Hershey bars please.
Cool pictures from the wax museum! And the Midway looks awesome too!

OMG it was so good too Amber. I love being able to make it yourself, toppings and all. Of course, since it's weighed you have to decide on deliciousness vs weight. I went largely with sprinkles, lol. And than Hershey store... MY GOD!! I love Hershey chocolate, so this was a bonanza.

Oddest looking Snow White ever. But we were seriously cracking up over Eddie Murphy in Twilight.

This was just pure fun... and really tiring, lol. And oh yeah, JACKPOT! She was pretty pleased. Plus, they pooled all the tickets so they each got something equal.

Another amazing store. This place is amazing!!

YAY!

Oh my yes, this really was the trip of a lifetime. It's kind of a blessing and a curse. Obviously a blessing because there really was so much to write about, so many awesome things, and most importantly, so many wonderful people. The curse is trying to even come close to duplicating it. I'm not sure it will ever be possible. But I will say, I sure do aim to try.

That final night was the perfect summary of this trip for me. Disney is Disney and will always be special. But the memory of that night and the people involved will always surpass everything else. And even getting to pass through Epcot as the only "civilian", as amazing as that was, this trip will always be about the people.

Thank you. I'll tell you, that place is amazing. I wish I had planned to stay longer (for obvious reasons) but also because it's just so much fun. I wish I was there right now too.

We absolutely were. I was in my glory. It was so funny about the tickets because Hailey just took it all in stride. Apparently this was not the first jackpot ever. And oh did I have fun playing Air Hockey. Granted I like the game, but playing with Riley was so extra special.

Hopefully not too long because I want to finish it up because, yes, another trip booked to Disney. I'm so glad there will be other DISers there. I really need that.

Oh yeah, I stayed away from heavy toppings. I love the concept, but the price, not so much. Carrie made sure to remind us to make sure the spoon was not in it until after it was weighed.

Right??!! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. I swear, I see Disney everywhere.

Not heaven, but pretty darn close. That Hershey store was epic. A 5 pound chocolate bar!!! It was fantastic.

Bahahaha, OMG I know the exact thing you're referring to!!!!! I actually did the traditional duck so as not to screw up "his" picture. So you can tell your dad you are not alone.

Hahaha, yeah a little bit. I think that's the only reason she goes to the Falls, lol.

OMG it looks WAY off. I kept wondering if it was something else. This can't be Snow White!!!

It was a blast Courtney. So much fun. But honestly I would have been happy anywhere at that point. And the Fudge store... AWESOME!

Great pictures at the wax museum. Sounds like you all had fun at the arcade! And YUM at all that fudge!

Thanks Alexis. The museum was fun, but definitely not Madame Tussaud quality. The arcade was a blast for sure. And MY GOD THE FUDGE!!!

That looks like a fun place - maybe not something to travel just for ... but while you are there definitely take advantage of it. They Hershey store looked cool - though shouldn't the giant bars and kisses be measured in Kilograms?

It is super fun Phil. We didn't even come close to seeing everything. There is so much there it's crazy. The Hershey store was really cool, especially for a Hershey lover like me. But you're right, should be kilograms. But I personally prefer pounds, so it worked for me.

It was a great deal too, about half price so it made total sense. The air hockey game was one of my highlights of the day. Riley loves it, so I was just happy to be doing it with her.

I know, apparently we have them here as well. I just didn't know it. It is fun and tasty, but I too hated trying to keep the price down vs getting the good stuff.

Yum! The frozen yogurt looks good. I love those mix it yourself places.
Yes I would like to order a year's supply of those 5lb Hershey bars please.
Cool pictures from the wax museum! And the Midway looks awesome too!

It was yummy Wendy. Yummy, but pricey. But it's vacation so it's ok.
It was everything I could do not to buy it. But $50 would be a hard pill to swallow. And I'd probably eat it in one sitting.
Thanks, it was good, but not great. I didn't like that the displays were so closed off. At Madame Tussauds you can pretty much touch them. The midway though was a blast, and most importantly, the kids love it.

Hershey's and fudge? Did you go to my dream world? :lmao: It's almost midnight and now I want some! Although I think my hips would disagree. I would have to do :yay: for a week!

The arcade looks like fun. I think my son would live in one if you let him. Gotta love a good game of air hockey.:goodvibes

What a sweet reunion, and not just because of your stops for fro-you, Hershey's and fudge.

:grouphug:

YIKES on your airport drama!

But you were rewarded with seeing some neat Disney touches. That plane is AWESOME!!! Takes Magical Express to a whole new level.

I have never been to Niagra Falls, so it is really cool to see all the fun stuff to do there.

Sounds like a fantastic day so far with dear and new friends alike!

:thumbsup2

I love frozen yogurt shops like that. Not sure what they are like up there, but here in FL they are super popular. They have started outnumbering the I've cream chains now.

A 5 pound bar of chocolate?! That is an unnecessary amount of Hershey's in one purchase.

Wax museums are sort of creepy, at least to me they are. But it still looks like you all had fun, both there and at the arcade. And air hockey is such a classic, how can someone go into a place like that and not play air hockey. :goodvibes

Love the stuff you got. The mug is great.
Glad they took you to the car. I would tried to take pics. LOl.
Love the Mickey Sorcerer plane.
Cute car you got.
Love the falls pics. Gorgeous!
I will take one of everything in the case at Hershey.
The Michael Douglas is CREEPY.
YUM! Love fudge.
Fun times so far.

We have lots of frozen yogurt places around here too. They seem to be pretty popular!!

Look at all that hershey paraphelnia! :) I am wanting something sweet right now as it is. :guilty:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs look terrible. LOL.. I guess when you have seen the real thing... it's just no duplicating. They look rather creepy.

You know I am loving your " I survived shirt" TEE HEE HEE

Hahahaha, it is a pretty spectacular combination of sweets for sure. Lots and lots of sugar, but the street is a hill, so it does help to compensate a little.

It is so much fun. I swear I did live in one when I was a kid. So many ways to spend money, no doubt. But the air hockey was easily my favourite.

Oh Girl you know it!!!:worship:

Oh my... :rolleyes2 :rotfl:

What a sweet reunion, and not just because of your stops for fro-you, Hershey's and fudge.

It was the best Dee, the best. I was so super happy to be there.

And yeah, I almost wasn't there... at least not on time. I was so panicked at that point. Thank goodness it worked out.

Totally. I've been dying to see that plane since I first heard about it. To have it rolling into the gate at the exact same time was beyond perfect.

OMG, it is LOADED!!!! So much stuff to do. We didn't even come close. Ripley's, other wax museums, haunted houses, just a ton of stuff. You could easily spend a couple of days there and not run out of things to do.

Without a doubt Dee. Just living up every second.

They seem to be gaining in popularity here now. I love the concept of make your own. But I do hate trying to decide between the weight of the good stuff and keeping the price down, lol.

It was HUGE!!! I wish I had taken a picture holding it to give a real size perspective. But $50??? Yeah, insane!

They absolutely are, I totally agree Alicia. Very unsettling. But still fun as well. The arcade was a total blast and we all had a good time in there. And yup, Air Hockey was my favourite. Riley LOVES it.

Thanks Scott, I loved it all. Of course, the mug is my fav.
I thought about it, but didn't want to push my luck.
Isn't it awesome??? Would love to be on that one day.
Haha. Bumble Bee.
It is purely awesome. Just unreal.
So much chocolate!!!
Haha, I found most of the wax figures here to be really creepy.
Awesome store.
Super fun for sure. I miss it.

Yeah, it does seem to be growing in popularity for sure.

Oh my Lord, it's pure insanity in the there. So... Much... Chocolate!!

Right??!! Awful. Just awful. And admittedly, most of the wax figures were pretty creepy.

Hehe, on total display, and STILL getting comments from people even though we weren't in Disney. And just wait until a bit later...
