"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Yes you do remember your first dismeet.

I'm actually still friends with these ladies ;)

I know I will, and this was just the first of many to come. Disney friends are the best friends.

This sounds like an awesome birthday! YOUR STACEY SHIRT :dance3: That is definitely a brilliant creation on par with the wheel and sliced bread. :thumbsup2

I am glad you finally saw the Walt movie. It makes me cry too!

YAY for your first Dismeet! My first one was with Jess and well THE REST IS HISTORY.

So far so good Lia. AWWWWW THANK YOU!!!! I had to think of a birthday shirt to make, then I looked at that signed photo I had sitting in a frame and BINGO!! It just made sense.

Oh God, it was AMAZING. I really am embarrassed that I never saw it before. But I will be making time to see it again and again. So good.

This was SO EXCITING!! So cool that it was Katt too given the back story.
Haha, indeed, but in reality it feels like you've always been one of the FRUMPS. It also really does show how this board (and Disney) brings people together who otherwise would probably never meet. And this trip was living proof of that.

I somehow missed these gems of posting when I joined in on your last TR late and tried to play catch up! Too funny!! :rotfl: And Tammy! :lmao:

Hehe, yes it was not my finest moment, but thakfully Brenda is there to remind me from time to time. But then again, how many TR's get a mascot?

I am really enjoying this report; so much thay I am going back to look at your other ones.

Cheers!

Lisa

Thank you SO MUCH Lisa!!! Welcome!!! It always makes my day to hear that, it really does.

Nice pics on Everest.
I was at DHS on the 4th. Let me see if I made any pics. LOL
I have yet to see the movie in One Man’s Dream.
Dismeets are so fun. I have made some real life friendships on here and am so happy of that.
Great update and pics.

Thanks Scott.

Ohh maybe I'm in there. I was only there a few hours though.

Oh you MUST!! It really is wonderful. That's my new goal, get everyone to see this movie.

So very true, and I really feel incredibly fortunate to have met so many wonderful people. Of course, they're Disney people, so they have to be wonderful.

Thanks so much!

I didn't mind staying at POP this summer, but our beds were awful! I think it is time they change out their mattresses. We were in the preferred location 4th floor by the Hippy Dippy Pool. It was an awesome location! And it was really easy to get around. Don't think I would ever try a stay at All-Stars, though.

Looking forward to more of your trip. Can't wait to hear all about your exciting Dismeets!

I think what I really like about POP is the energy of it. I personally didn't find the beds bad (though I have heard others complain). Perhaps I'm just used to bad mattresses, lol. Location does play a big factor. Some people adore the All-Stars, but I have a feeling a lot of that is nostalgia, not that that is a bad thing.

There are for sure quite a few more meets to come.

So I thought I was reallllly behind on your TR. And while I'm definitely behind, it looked a lot longer than it was because you get so many comments!! Haha that is awesome :)

What a fantastic room location! Convenience is so important. And I love the orange magic band, good color choice! ;) (That's my favorite color!)

I love the start of your birthday morning! Everest 8 times in a row. But the fact that you were missing photos and that some of them barely even had you in it is just pathetic on Disney's part. You'd think with something they're trying to make money on they'd put a little more effort into actually making it good!

I feel you on the DHS quick service options. I usually go to ABC Commissary just because it's decent food, even though it's your typical boring stuff.

And you don't suck at TSM! I have to say that because that score you posted is higher than my highest score I've ever gotten! haha

Nope you're not far behind at all Becky. And my goodness yes, I can't thank everyone enough for all the comments. I love it so much and I'm so very grateful.

It was so wicked!! I just loved it in that spot and if/when I go back, I hope to be so fortunate again. Ahh me Tooooo!!! I was so happy with it when I got it.

It was an awesome start for sure. But you are so right. Funnily, I've heard of people having ride photos show up in their MyDisneyExperience account that they never added themselves. Presumably it linked automatically with their MB? And yet those of us paying have photos missing. But yeah, the big issue is the photo layout itself which is just awful. I know when I had digital downloads on prior trips the formattiong was much better AND they had the standard ride photo borders. I had to add boarders to these ones. Definitely a huge step backwards. Everest was the worst of the bunch though. The other rides seemed ok.

Yeah, they really need to improve things in DHS. Not to mention how early a lot of places close. I will never get that.

Aww thanks, haha. I've just so wanted to break 200K for like EVER.

It should definitely be at the top of everyone's list to see one man's dream when visiting MGM/DHS! It really is such a nice reminder of how dreams can come true & of Walt. Don't worry,I cried too during my first viewing of the film. Though, I do get teary every single time we fly over disneyland in soarin so... Disney people are just sensitive & in touch with our inner child because we are awesome like that. :)

I don't know what it is but there is just something about disney hamburgers. I stop at pecos bills whenever I get the chance!

Obviously couldn't agree more, and it's so nice (though not surprising) that so many had the same reaction to the film. OMG I DO TOO on Soarin' Jennifer. Yes we Disney folk are a a sensitive bunch, that's for sure... And I love it!!

By and large they're awesome. On a trip a couple years ago, something had changed (or I just had bad luck) because I didn't like them at all and I always loved them. The past couple trips I think they're good again.

I have never seen One Man's Dream either... And don't kill me but I have never rode Toy Story Mania either... GASPPPPPPP.. I know.. I know.. The line just is always SOOOOO long!! And with two kids, I can't stand in a line like that. Maybe next time! As you know, I FINALLY got to do EE in October!

I hope we can meet in real life one day! I feel like I already know you! When is your next trip in the works? :)

How did you like Frozen?? Wasn't it phenomenal? I have the soundtrack and sing like a teenager in the car. LOL!

You know what Marcie, I can forgive TSMM. I do like it very much, but I'm not obsessed like some are. BUT... YOU NEED TO SEE ONE MAN'S DREAM!!!! If we ever end up in the World at the same time... You're getting dragged in there!

And on a related note... I REALLY HOPE SO TOO!!! Aww that is so sweet. I have nothing concrete at this moment, But if I was taking bets... I'd say mid to late September inclusive.

OMG I really loved it. No pun intended, but I was literally "frozen" during Let it Go. And when it ended I just sat there and said, out loud, "WOW." My friend just looked at me and laughed. And without ruining anything for anyone who hasn't seen it... I LOVED LOVED LOVED the resolution of "True Love" done in this movie. You know what I mean. Just beautiful.

A big gooey cinnamon roll is the perfect birthday breakfast! Heck, it's the perfect breakfast any day! :thumbsup2

Hahahaha, I'm glad to hear you didn't walk into the ladies' restroom again! Although, it would've been funny.

I still get a kick out of that Stacey shirt! Love it!

Yay for a DIS MEET! SO FUN!

Isn't it though??? It sure did feel right.

Haha, nope, I've been extra careful since then... except for that one time...

OMG Thank you!! It felt right to be wearing it that day.

First one EVER. So exciting!! AND just the first of MANY to come.

Thanks Dave. It was exciting, and OMG so many more to come.

Haha, sorry about that. I wouldn't want to leave you hanging . You can read all about it here. The actual bathroom incident comes at the end.
Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 1 Cont.

It also spawned this... (very beginning of the post) Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 3 which should explain the Brenda reference... and the fact that she still hasn't let me live that down, lol.

Yeah, about that... I'll likely not let you forget it either since that was so epic! Just wait until I post my KTTK tour. :)

LOVE your breakfast. That looks really tasty. I love vacation breakfast. You would never eat it at home but on vacation, who cares?

I cry at the movie too. Every time I see it. I haven't done the character quiz yet but I believe I will have to try it. We like the ABC Commissary. Our food has always been decent and fresh. And I have never had a problem finding some where to sit.

I have never had a Dismeet, but would love to have one. One of my favorite hobbies is sharing in other people's adventures!

Bahahaha, oh dear Lord... :scared1:

Oh wait, this won't probably happen until sometime next year after you finally finish the Dream Suite tour. :rolleyes1

You know that's exactly right. I know I hardly eat sugar at home, but in Disney I for sure make up for it.

It is so amazing, how could you not? The character quiz is quite cute I have to admit. I actually do like the Commissary for those very reasons. As long as you have something I like, I'm good, and seating is quite plentiful.

It's really quite surreal in that you're meeting someone but it feels kind of like you already have. There's nothing quite like it.

So I am a little late for a sub, but I've seen you on Brenda's TR so I decided to read a long.

Looking forward to reading all about your December trip!

Two updates in and I am already laughing :rotfl: Glad you had an uneventful trip and I especially love MCO at Christmas time. Every time I take the fake-o-rail, as you so refer to it, I feel like I am home.

I love POP, but what's the deal with no Stacy?

and that cheesecake? :faint: That is so NOT cool! :sad2:

DISmeets are so wonderful. I'm sure nobody outside of the boards gets why it's so fun to run into people you only know online, but that doesn't make it any less true for us DISers.

And it's true, you don't forget your first DISmeet. :thumbsup2

Hey, your TSMM score looks pretty good to me. Nothing to hang your head about there.

One Man's Dream is such an overlooked attraction....:sad2:

Oh my goodness, you are most certainly NOT late. Believe me, this is JUST getting started. Brenda will be making many appearances here for sure. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being here!!

Aww Thank you!! It really was a pretty straighforward journey and MCO is just beautiful. I just love it (at least when I'm arriving... Not so much the other way).

I've totally fallen in love with POP, but the No Stacey issue is just not cool. Also not cool... The Cheesecake.

OMG so true. It's funny that I finally get the whole "Trekker/Trekkie thing now. This is really the same thing but with Disney.

I know I never will.

Aww thanks. I just want to break 200K SO BADLY!!!!

It sadly is, but I think more and more people are discovering it all the time which makes me SO HAPPY!!

LOVE One Man's Dream!!! It is so quintessentially DISNEY. I cried during the movie too. It's so moving. And it is AMAZING to see what has grown out of his idea for parents and children (and children at heart) to have a place to have fun together.

Yay, your first DIS meet! :thumbsup2 How totally appropriate and poetic that it was also the first DIS'er you ever saw in person but didn't approach. :goodvibes

I rarely post on TR's but I love to read them. I hope you update us soon. I can't wait. I am reading your first TR now.

This line had me laughing hysterically this morning: "I swear these things could be their own currency. “I’ll give you this Toy Story fast pass for your, oh I don’t know… kid”. And 9 times out of 10 you’d walk away with somebody’s kid."

I found you from reading emmysmommy's Castle report. She needs to keep writing, too.

Get writing! Seriously, I'm waiting with bated breath here!

You know that's EXACTLY right. So glad to hear about other's being so moved by the film too. It really is a beautiful story. And a place to have fun together, YES!! I learned that more this trip than ever before.

It really was poetic and honestly hadn't even thought about it at the time, but then when I was writing... like... ooh, that's unique.

I am so glad you posted here though so I can welcome you properly!!

Oh wow, that one brings back memories from the first TR way way back. Oh wait, I guess is wasn't even a year ago, lol.

Haha, I swear more people end up here as a result of Brenda's TR that anything else. I hope she doesn't come looking for commission.

No worries. A new update is on the way.

"YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO WISH UPON A STAR"
Day 2 – December 4, 2013 Part 3

I had now officially had my very first DISmeet, on my birthday no less, and I had a whole lot of day still remaining.

Since I was right at the Streets of America, I snapped some daytime photos of the Osborne Lights setup.
It looks so “industrial” in the daytime, but boy it sure is amazing when they come alive at night.

52.jpg

I had no immediate plans, so I really just wandered and eventually came upon Daisy, Huey, Dewey, and Louie out for a stroll.
I was pretty exciting that the boys were finally out meeting in the parks.

53.jpg

The real story here was the babies had all gone through the fence on the right in the picture and into the shrubbery.
Mama, however, could not seem to fit despite her best efforts (another reason not to feed the birds), so she went BALLISTIC!!

Honestly, it was really the sweetest thing to watch this Mama so concerned over the well being of her children.
There are a lot of humans that could learn something from her example.

Finally the kiddos came back, and the fam went on their way and into a queue line apparently.

54.jpg

Well, it is Walt Disney World... You are not exempt from queue lines just because you’re a duck.

My remaining FP’s not yet in affect, I decided a ride through the movies was in order, as I had skipped this on my April trip.

55.jpg

56.jpg

I was enjoying my movie based journey when something unexplainable and frankly just plain weird happened…

57.jpg

I GOT THE COWBOY SEQUENCE!!!!!!!

58.jpg

I know there are some who get this sequence with some regularity (JessM… looking at you), but from what I’m been able to decipher,
You join DISboards and your Cowboy sequence privileges are immediately revoked.

After pinching myself to make sure I was not yet in the Twilight Zone, I made my way back towards Sunset,

Grabbed a Gertie pic on the way, because it’s necessary (for you Theresa if you’re out there),

59.jpg

And walked towards this beauty (and then struck a pose as I naturally assumed the lady in the bottom of the photo was taking a picture of me).

60.jpg

After successfully using FP+ on TSMM earlier, here it did not work as I got the dreaded blue light.
I assume Disney chose blue as the rejection color instead of red because they’d rather you feel “blue” (sad) than “red” (angry) when it doesn’t work?
Or perhaps it’s to represent the person who undoubtedly stomps his feet and holds his breath in protest until he turns blue?
Or it was just a way to get people familiar with Avatar.

In any event, the understanding and sympathetic CM overrode the denial and sent me right on through.
I guess he wasn't interested in seeing how long I could hold my breath which, incidentally, is not long.

After riding, the CM working the photo booth decided that, even though I had Attactions+ (which only got me digital downloads),
I deserved a printed copy as well.

60a.jpg

My first bit of birthday pixie dust, plus the girl beside me in the photo was super happy it was my birthday too.
This CM and the other CM working the area also declared this their second favorite ride photo ever.
I'm guessing they were new, but I felt pretty good about it considering the first consisted of a guy actually proposing to his girlfriend while on the ride.

Now THAT is cool!!

After riding up and down, it was now time to ride around and around, so off to my next FP+ conveniently located next door,

61.jpg

Which again made me “blue”, but again they overrode it and sent me through.

61a.jpg

Despite the kid’s best efforts, he was not able to hide from the sudden launch, but I did understand his thought process.
When I was a kid, I would often hide when something bad happened assuming it would somehow magically go away.
It’s also probably a good thing this ride is sponsored by Hanes, so hopefully the kid can get a replacement pair.

It was after leaving RnRC that I was just milling about when a lady came up to me commenting on my shirt.

FINALLY!!!!

I hadn't mentioned this before, but it was SHOCKING how few CM's knew who Stacey was.
I had numerous ones ask me "Is that your princess?" which of course is "YES!!!!",
But they legit thought she was just some random person I knew back home.
I get that many CM's don't stay on property (despite their amazing discounts), but Stacey should be part of the orientation, no?

I did get a few thumbs up later in the day from guests and some questions about its origin,
But it was SO NICE to finally have someone vocally recognize the subject of my shirt.

The lady even asked to take a picture of it, as she said many of the guys back home LOVED Stacey.
I was, of course, happy to oblige.
Unfortunately, she also told me that when they all quote the Must Dos, they tend to take it to a more "Adult" place.

"You're Gonna Get WETTTTTTTT"... "Yup, I BET you are."

I did not like her after that. DO NOT besmirch Stacey.

It was almost time to head to my third destination and third park of day, but I still had a little bit of time,
So I decided on something that would go well with something I had planned for later.

62.jpg

The queue did have this cute Ariel inspired Christmas decoration.

63.jpg

It’s a cute show but oh so truncated.
But Ariel's voice in this particular showing was absolutely incredible so of course I quite enjoyed it,
EXCEPT for the woman behind me who talked THROUGH THE WHOLE THIING!!!
There was an older lady seated next to me, and I swear if looks could kill, that lady in behind would currently be a permanent part of the VotLM Theatre.

After existing, Sofia the first was out meeting

64.jpg

But I ran away as she just creeps me out. Her head is SO BIG, but I have an even bigger issue.
I'm perfectly fine with all the fur characters and their single expression, but on a "real person"... It's unsettling.
Look at her just staring at the photographer. I guarantee she’s putting a curse on him and stealing his soul.

Finally it was time to bid MGM goodbye for the day.

65.jpg

There was only one place Magical enough for me to end my birthday, and Wishes O’Clock comes quicker than you think.

... But sometimes things don't always go as planned.

Thanks for the cheers and birthday wishes Bo… and I’ll see ya real soon.

66.jpg

TO BE CONTINUED…

So excited to have found your latest Trip Report!! (and not too long after it started either!)

I look forward to reading about your trip, and am glad to see your Birthday in Disney started off so well!

On my upcoming trip I am celebrating my 30th birthday, even though it's not officially until July.

I also love your shirts! They are so clever!

:)

Such well-mannered ducks, waiting patiently in line. Get them some MagicBands and they'd be in business.

YEAHHHHHH COWBOY SEQUENCE!!! So glad you finally got it.

Good theories on the blue. My guess is that it has to do with Donald, the crankiest character who wears blue and would not be happy if his MB was denied.

A TOT marriage proposal?! That is AWESOME. I've seen a picture of a Splash Mountain proposal (which would be one of my dream proposals) but TOT is super cool too.

RNRC pic...you're either blowing a kiss to Stacey, or TOT followed by RNRC made you feel not-so-good. I'm going with the former.

:furious: how I feel about besmirching poor Stacey.

Yay for a great day at Dhs, you really did accomplish alot!

Bahahaha at the avatar comment, legit laughed out loud at that!

I keep meaning to take a picture with Bo! Next time then!!

Awe man, as if people don't know about Stacey!?!?

Never gonna look at Sofia The First the same way! Maybe she would be better placed in the MNSSHP parade, following the horseman.

I haven't been on the DIS in like, a week, so I'm really behind!

Yay for your first DIS meet! You're right, you will always remember your first one! And I did the same thing as you, I saw someone I recognized at a Halloween Party in 2011 (PirateKate, if you remember her) and I was too scared to say anything to her! But then I ran into another DIS'er the next year, so I'll always remember that! :thumbsup2

Um...I have never watched the Walt movie in One Man's Dream. I'm ashamed of myself, I swear, the next time I'm in WDW I'll have to see it. Especially after watching Saving Mr. Banks, I need to know more about Walt! :cool1:

OMG BABY DISNEY DUCKS!!!! :dance3::yay::cool1: There is nothing cuter than a baby duck, especially a Disney duck! I'm obsessed, I spend far too much time on my trips staring at Disney ducklings!

CM's don't know who Stacey is??? :sad2: That's so strange, I would figure if you're a CM, you are a Disney fan, which means you should have stayed there at least once...maybe not, I don't know! At least you found someone who knew who she was, although, I'm not a big fan of turning her quotes into "adult" sayings! :rotfl2:

I hate when people talk throughout shows. I don't mind a whispered comment here and there.

Last year we went for Christmas and at the candelight processional a kid in front of us turned around and talked to us the entire time. I was sad his parents weren't taking care of him but is it my job?
