"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Looks like a good birthday breakfast to me!

And I'm so glad you had your first DISmeet and that it was with Katt! :)

I found your TR via Katt's many TR's and I've been lurking but I have to finally post and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!pixiedust:

And just for the record, I think you and Stacy make a cute couple!!!

And your Birthday Breakfast gets a thumps up too!!! :thumbsup2

Rob-

Great TR and exciting updates!

I am now reading your previous TR....and LOVING it! I really like being able to click right to the next update in completed trip reports, but it is also so much fun to read the 'live' reports, with everyone else chiming in with comments and compliments.

:coffee:

(I should be working and not lurking.....sigh)

I am glad you came out of the shadows and stopped lurking. Your trip reports are the best!

My 9 year old daughter loved One Man's Dream. My wife finally had to drag my daughter and me out of there.

Congrats on your first Dis Meet! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more about all of the DIS meets that occurred in this trip.

But seriously, you can't leave us hanging with a tease about what sounds to be a walking in the wrong restroom story! :rotfl: I've done that once. The immediate and dead giveaway was the lack of......ummmm......wall fixtures I'm accustomed to seeing. Fortunately no one saw me enter or leave but was still quite embarrassed.

Sure, I can see you as Tarzan!

I've never watched the film at One Man's Dream, either. Added to the list.

I've avoided ABC Comissary because of bad reviews, but that burger looked really good!

Great photo of you and Katt!

Haha, Aww thanks Annie.

Oh you MUST!! It's wonderful!! Glad I'm not the only one who missed it though.

It does get bad reviews, but honestly it's quite good, at least to me. There was a period I found that it was less than quality, but it's good again now.

Aw thank you!!

First, congrats on achieving you Birthday mission of riding Everest 8 times though I suppose I could be a jerk and say - if no photo evidence then it didn't happen ... but I would never be a jerk ;)

Also thought it was cool that from the top you could actually make out TOT and thus your later destination of MGM studios :thumbsup2

If it makes you feel better, I cried / teared up at the end of the One Man's Dream movie as well. Perhaps we should start a support group ... which, of course, has to meet, weekly, inside One Man's Dream :goodvibes

Congrats also on your first DISmeet and I am sure Katt is honored to be your first .... I hope she was gentle ;)

Thanks Phill. Haha, I PROMISE I did 8. If I was going to lie, the number would have been MUCH higher.

You see how it all comes together?

OMG it was just beautiful. Perfect. I don't know why I always passed on seeing it, but no excuses. I'm definitely in for the support group.

THANK YOU!! And yes, she was a perfect princess.

Um, are you wearing a Stacey shirt?! So cool! I promise to check out One Man's Dream, next trip!

I sure am Elena. I had to have Stacey with me on my birthday so I made a shirt. And YES please please please make time for One Man's Dream AND the movie. You will not regret it.

Great pics! :)

Thank you SO MUCH!! :goodvibes

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Rob,this was such a fab update, I found myself laughing out loud through most of it. Also, you always do such a great job of highlighting the amazing connections we are able to have through the one and only Dis. Can't wait for another update!!! :goodvibes

Aww Tracy, THANK YOU!!! I'm so delighted to hear (read) that. I swear this community has given me so much as this trip will hopefully illustrate!

Ahhhh your FIRST Dismeet with none other than Katt! Very appropriate!

I would never be one to judge cinnamon rolls for breakfast - that's my idea of a great start to the day. Doesn't sugar = energy? I'll go with that one.

One Man's Dream - definitely a must to be able to wear the badge of a true Disney fan! I actually prefer the movie to the exhibit because of the emotion behind all that. Maybe I just like to cry??

You must like to eat with good people for lunch and not eat nice people for lunch if you are most like Tarzan. And it tells me that you like to need to buy some shirts! :rotfl2:

I appreciate the confirmation that there was a symbol of a dude with pants on the door to the washroom that you entered. Whew! I don't think I could stand the embarrassment all over again if I knew that my newest Dis pal didn't pay attention to signage. :rolleyes1

You had some pretty stiff competition at TSMM! Great job winning a cat. Is that a cat? It looks a little crazed.

It really and truly was Brenda. Honestly you couldn't write a better scenerio.

Totally correct I think. And you definitely require energy in Disney, so it all makes perfect sense.

Obviously I so agree, and as much I LOVE the exhibits, nothing can top that movie. So emotional and beautiful.

Bahaha, thank goodness YOU bought me a shirt. Hmmm, maybe subliminally that's why?

Whew indeed. I pay strict attention now (except for that one time that you witnessed but thankfully did not get a photo of). I did that one on purpose though of course just for the entertainment value. Yeah that's it.

Oh it was brutal competition. Brutal I tell ya!! But thakfully I presevered.

Love the pics of Lady & Tramp!!

Nice breakfast! Always gotta go for the deliciousness in Disney!

Seems like a pretty decent morning at DHS so far! Baha at the men’s washroom toward Brenda! Lol.

YAY! ALSO WHAT?!? WHAT?!?! I SERIOUSLY HAD NO IDEA YOU SAW ME IN DLR!! THAT IS SO BIZARRELY AWESOME!! So glad that I could be your first dis-“sighting” and your first dismeet! That’s so cool!! Honestly, the dis has brought me together with so many wonderful and supportive and awesome people that I can never express enough love towards it, I will never forget everyone on here, how supportive of dreams they are, how everyone simply just “gets it” it’s wonderful
ONE DAY (hopefully soon) you’ll see Amanda & I dancing our way down Main Street, and Steven will be off working a meet and greet somewhere lol!

….also stealing that picture for my TR…whenever I start that…lol

Them doggies rule. I loved seeing them every morning and night.

Deliciousness and quickness was a total requirement at that point in time for sure.

It was kinda nice not to be rushing anywhere. And HA, yes, I had to make sure to point how far I've come in my sign reading skills.

Haha, yup, totally saw you way before I even joined the boards. It really is strange how it all lined up and made for a perfect story to tie it all together. Seriously, what are the odds? It IS cool. It's kinda, dare I say, Magical. That is it exactly Katt. This community is just beyond wonderful and I thank God everyday that I found it.
And you better believe I'll be there dancing right along with you.

Haha, absolutely.

Pshaw, cinnamon rolls are a necessity at Disney. You need sugar to keep that energy level up.

If it's any consolation, when I went in August and November, One Man's Dream was pretty packed!

The One Man's Dream movie is SO GOOD. I'm glad you loved it! I mean, I've been a Disney fan for my entire life and I still learned a lot from that movie. Plus, I got pretty choked up too.

:lmao: at your bathroom experience.

Aww, I'm so glad you had such a good DISmeet with Katt!

Exactly Courtney. This had nothing to do with flavour. It was strictly an energy boost and nothing more.

That makes me HAPPY!!!!! I love that it seems more and more people are giving it a look.

OMG "loved it" isn't even the word. I absolutely ADORED THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!! Just a beautiful and inspirational story.

Hehe, I figure I should point that out every time just to be safe.

It was just awesome especially on my birthday!

I've been known to hug trees. I definitely get the urge to hug those beauties!
Completely 100% agree about One Man's Dream. I do it (and see the film! ;) ) every single trip. I love learning all I can about the man!
Those signs... in the washrooms... I die a little every time I think too much about who really needs them.
YAY TSM!! Love it! I never do well on that ride, but I love it so much.
Great story about your DisMeet! A wonderful birthday so far indeed!

Haha, they were so iresistable.

Oh I know, it should be mandatory. And the film... no words... just tears.

Seriously right? I guess this is Disney's way of getting a little more revenue.

Ahh I do too. It may not be as high on my fav list as for some people, but it's pretty wicked.

It was just such a weird coincidence, but so very cool.

Fantastic update!!!

Beautiful pictures of POP, your breakfast :goodvibes and HS (the park formerly known as MGM and still occasionally referred to as such on Disney maps and info).

What an amazing story and story behind your first DISmeet!

I was recognized by a DISer who read my trip reports- in Atlantis in the Bahamas of all places. She was going to introduce herself to me, but 1) Didn't want to appear to be a "creeper" and 2) I was walking too fast.

Yup. That was me!

Thanks Dee!!

Thank you again and YES, I find it so comical that you can still find MGM on various items.

Honestly, you couldn't make up a better story. It was such a coincidence how it all came together.

WOW, it just goes to show how far reaching this board really is. Getting recognized and not even being in Disney is pretty cool.

Great update! It was nice to meet you!!

Thanks Amanda. It was awesome to meet you as well.

I LOVE One Man's Dream and always enjoy the movie as well. I can't believe you didn't have a chance to see it before! It's also nice to know I'm not the only person that tears up in that movie! ::yes::

Since I'm now caught up with all your trip reports, I also want to comment on a few things from your last report. (Is that allowed? Well, I'm doing it anyway!)

-I really need to bite the bullet and sign up for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour! I've thought about doing it before, but your fantastic description, fun tidbits, and great enthusiasm for the experience makes me want to run out and go on the tour tomorrow. I believe it might be a "must-do" on my next vacation! (See how I snuck that in there?) :p

-I need to try LeFou's Brew from Gaston's Tavern - you made it sound pretty tasty.

-I love your CM's from around the world challenge! I would totally take you up on the challenge, but I may run into some resistance from my travel partner. (However, I could probably twist her arm to pose with men from France and Italy...) :rotfl:

I'm so embarrassed that I hadn't seen the film before, but no excuses other than stupidity. Oh God, I just couldn't help it. Walt's story is just so beautiful and inspirational.

Of course it's allowed. :)

You will LOVE the tour I PROMISE!!! I know some get worried about it destroying the magic, but for me that couldn't be further from the truth. It only enhanced it.

YES!!!! It is so GOOD!!! It's kinda similar to Butterbeer, but obviously the taste is different as it's more apple juice flavor. But it is ridiculously refreshing. Even Anika might like it since you got her to try Butterbeer.

:rotfl2: Ah YES the "creepers"!! That still makes me giggle. Given there are no head coverings on the CM's Around the World tour, I think you''ll have better luck.

Good choice for a birthday breakfast! Calories don't count in Disney Rob, eat what you want.

"Tree hugger" haha too funny! I literally felt all giddy and like I was going to pop at every tree I saw.

I'm ashamed to say I've only been in One Man's dream once... I promise I'll go check it out next time!

Nice score on TSM!

So fun to read about your first DISmeet! So funny it was kKtt and the first diser you ever saw in a Disney park! Love it!

Exactly Jess. If anything all the food has negative calories.

There are Christmas trees everywhere, and yet I never tired of seeing them.

Well, at least you have seen it. But YES, make some time for it AND the movie. You will not regret it, I promise.

Haha, Thanks. I still want to break 200K some day.

Such an amazing coincidence how it all played out. Disney is magical though.

That cinnamon roll looks delicious. All that sugar just helps you get through the day.

I love going through the One Man's Dream exhibit. I have seen the movie but unfortunatley missed it last year since my 2 year old son decided he was not going in any dark theater. I AM going to see it again this time though. Glad you finally got to see it. :)

That burger at ABC Commissary looks yummy. I can't wait to eat Disney food. Reading all the TR's for the months and months that I have been waiting to go to Disney and FINALLY I will be there in 5 days and I can FINALLY eat all the good food I have been watching all of you take pictures of and talk about. :goodvibes

That is so awesome that you had a dismeet with Katt and even cooler that she was the first person you ever recognized from the Dis all those years ago at Disneyland. It was meant to be that you got to actually "meet' her this time. :goodvibes

Seems like you are having a wonderful birthday, looking forward to reading more.

Oh it was so good and just what I needed at that moment.

That movie was just... perfect. I can't wait to see it again.

It was really good. AHHHHH You're so close to having it yourself. So jealous.

It really is an amazing story. And to be honest, at the time it didn't even occur to me. It was only when writing the update that I stopped and was like "wait a minute..."

Following along...:wave2:

YAY!!! So very happy to welcome you and have you join in!!! Thanks so much!

Great update Rob!

Your breakfast looks delicious, and fitting for the birthday boy!

Every time I see one of those hand washing signs I think to myself "thank goodness they provide instruction! I've never really had it spelled out for me before!" So ridiculous.

LOL:lmao: I think you're right about the FP+ signage.

Yay for your first Dismeet! How funny that you'd seen Katt at DLR! You know, now that I think about it, my first Dismeet was with Katt too!

Aww thanks Shannon.

It was the perfect breakfast and just what I needed and YEAH an excellent choice for a birthday.

It really is the most ridiculous thing. Like, who is this for?

Hehe, yeah, but at least it had wheels.

I was so excited to finally have a DISmeet (I say finally as it really only took 9 months), but with the backstory, Katt was perfect as the first. OMG, so funny that she was your first as well, although given she's there every other week, the odds defintitely do go up. ;)

Rob- Breakfast looked good :goodvibes

Ooh and it was SO GOOD!!

Looks like a good birthday breakfast to me!

And I'm so glad you had your first DISmeet and that it was with Katt! :)

Very Very true Alexis. Perfect!

Aww me too. Such a great feeling.

:thumbsup2

Haha, many TR's indeed!!!! Aww THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!! I'm so glad you're here took a moment to say hello. I truly appreciate that Nancy.

Ha, AWWWW that is SO SWEET of you to say, my goodness.

It was SO GOOD too. I'm not a big sugar eater at home (my non Disney home I mean), but I suspend that when I'm there. You just have to.

Rob-

Great TR and exciting updates!

I am now reading your previous TR....and LOVING it! I really like being able to click right to the next update in completed trip reports, but it is also so much fun to read the 'live' reports, with everyone else chiming in with comments and compliments.

(I should be working and not lurking.....sigh)

Thank you SO VERY MUCH and welcome!!!

I so hope you enjoy the previous one. It was my favourite trip before this current one. Haha, yeah I know what you mean. So cool not to have to wait, lol. I agree, both have there pluses. I tend to occasionally reference the old report, so having that knowlege can help your enjoyment here (though it is certainly not required).

Ha, I tend to get caught up on DIS stuff at work too, so no worries. :)

Thanks again for being here Linda.

I am glad you came out of the shadows and stopped lurking. Your trip reports are the best!

My 9 year old daughter loved One Man's Dream. My wife finally had to drag my daughter and me out of there.

Aww thank you Rob. Believe me, I am too as this report will clearly testify to that.

That is AWESOME!!! I love that so much!

Congrats on your first Dis Meet! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more about all of the DIS meets that occurred in this trip.

The immediate and dead giveaway was the lack of......ummmm......wall fixtures I'm accustomed to seeing. Fortunately no one saw me enter or leave but was still quite embarrassed.

Thanks Dave. It was exciting, and OMG so many more to come.

Haha, sorry about that. I wouldn't want to leave you hanging . You can read all about it here. The actual bathroom incident comes at the end.
Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 1 Cont.

It also spawned this... (very beginning of the post) Day 3 – April 29, 2013 Part 3 which should explain the Brenda reference... and the fact that she still hasn't let me live that down, lol.

Yes you do remember your first dismeet.

I'm actually still friends with these ladies ;)

This sounds like an awesome birthday! YOUR STACEY SHIRT :dance3: That is definitely a brilliant creation on par with the wheel and sliced bread. :thumbsup2

I am glad you finally saw the Walt movie. It makes me cry too!

YAY for your first Dismeet! My first one was with Jess and well THE REST IS HISTORY.

Thanks Dave. It was exciting, and OMG so many more to come.

Haha, sorry about that. I wouldn't want to leave you hanging . You can read all about it here. The actual bathroom incident comes at the end.

I somehow missed these gems of posting when I joined in on your last TR late and tried to play catch up! Too funny!! :rotfl: And Tammy! :lmao:

I am really enjoying this report; so much thay I am going back to look at your other ones.

Cheers!

Lisa

Nice pics on Everest.
I was at DHS on the 4th. Let me see if I made any pics. LOL
I have yet to see the movie in One Man’s Dream.
Dismeets are so fun. I have made some real life friendships on here and am so happy of that.
Great update and pics.

I didn't mind staying at POP this summer, but our beds were awful! I think it is time they change out their mattresses. We were in the preferred location 4th floor by the Hippy Dippy Pool. It was an awesome location! And it was really easy to get around. Don't think I would ever try a stay at All-Stars, though.

Looking forward to more of your trip. Can't wait to hear all about your exciting Dismeets!

So I thought I was reallllly behind on your TR. And while I'm definitely behind, it looked a lot longer than it was because you get so many comments!! Haha that is awesome :)

What a fantastic room location! Convenience is so important. And I love the orange magic band, good color choice! ;) (That's my favorite color!)

I love the start of your birthday morning! Everest 8 times in a row. But the fact that you were missing photos and that some of them barely even had you in it is just pathetic on Disney's part. You'd think with something they're trying to make money on they'd put a little more effort into actually making it good!

I feel you on the DHS quick service options. I usually go to ABC Commissary just because it's decent food, even though it's your typical boring stuff.

And you don't suck at TSM! I have to say that because that score you posted is higher than my highest score I've ever gotten! haha

It should definitely be at the top of everyone's list to see one man's dream when visiting MGM/DHS! It really is such a nice reminder of how dreams can come true & of Walt. Don't worry,I cried too during my first viewing of the film. Though, I do get teary every single time we fly over disneyland in soarin so... Disney people are just sensitive & in touch with our inner child because we are awesome like that. :)

I don't know what it is but there is just something about disney hamburgers. I stop at pecos bills whenever I get the chance!

I have never seen One Man's Dream either... And don't kill me but I have never rode Toy Story Mania either... GASPPPPPPP.. I know.. I know.. The line just is always SOOOOO long!! And with two kids, I can't stand in a line like that. Maybe next time! As you know, I FINALLY got to do EE in October!

I hope we can meet in real life one day! I feel like I already know you! When is your next trip in the works? :)

How did you like Frozen?? Wasn't it phenomenal? I have the soundtrack and sing like a teenager in the car. LOL!

A big gooey cinnamon roll is the perfect birthday breakfast! Heck, it's the perfect breakfast any day! :thumbsup2

Hahahaha, I'm glad to hear you didn't walk into the ladies' restroom again! Although, it would've been funny.

I still get a kick out of that Stacey shirt! Love it!

Yay for a DIS MEET! SO FUN!
