"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I have GOT to stop Dis'ing on multiple devices. I was SO sure I'd commented already! Yeesh, sorry for being late to this update!

One thing I can not do is a sugary food with a sugary drink. Oddly enough, I'm not really a big fan of sugar! :confused3 (Except for chocolate, and that's just the estrogen talking. :rotfl2: )
LOVE the pic with the Tremaine sisters! I love the poses, they're so funny.
Still giggling about the 60 minute wait at the Treehouse. Seems everything was back to normal in December!
Love Dream Along with Mickey, I always seem to miss it though. It's a beautiful show!
Also, how wonderful that you celebrated Walt's birthday everywhere you went and got everyone included, love the pic with Mayor Weaver and Smokey together.
Your pics of the Move It Shake It are fantastic!

Love it!

Wow, a wonderful day indeed! Really great pictures of everything, felt like I was really watching the shows! :goodvibes

Aww Wendy, you make me laugh.

Truth be told, neither am I. It's not that I dislike it by any means, I just don't eat a lot of it. But In Disney... Oh YEAH! When in Rome I guess.

They are. I really could just sit and watch them, they are so entertaining.
Haha, Can you believe it was down to 0?????
I usually miss most of it too. But I was determined to watch the whole thing since it's SO GOOD!
Aww thanks Wendy. It was perfect having them all there like that to help me celebrate. And I'm not done yet...
THANK YOU!! I so love that parade/party! OMG.

Hehe, who knew they were all named Dan? I don't know how they keep it straight.

So far so good. And it's about to get even better as the day rolls on.

I LOVE the pictures of the castle with the fireworks during the day!
What kind of camera do you use?
I have GOT to get a better camera for our next trip!
How awesome is Barbara? NOw, I have never seen her in person but man, that has got to be the life? "Working" on Main Street?? I can't even imagine the fun it has to be!

Thanks Marcie, I do too!!!

The camera is just a fairly cheap and tiny Canon Elph, but I love it. My model is 300 HS, and I couldn't be happier with it. It was like $150 or something like that.

OMG SO Awesome!!! Just a load of energy and so entertaining to watch. How could that NOT be fun? Dream Job!

Really enjoying all of your updates Rob! I'm finally all caught up and you're cracking me up as usual. :thumbsup2

OK, so in your Big Al pics... what's up with all of the people wearing scarves?

I think a Move It, Shake It MNSSHP costume would be awesome!

You got some fantastic pics of Dream Along with Mickey! Such a great show.

Looks like it was a great start to Walt's birthday. Can't wait to read more.

What is better than a massive bun of sugar and a LeFou's Brew?! Not much I tell you!

I haven't had the one from Gaston's Tavern, but it looks exactly the same as the one from MSB. Maybe some have been a little too critical?

Good thing there was a 60 minute wait for the Swiss Family Treehouse! :lmao:

Love that you got the picture of the Mayor and Smokey. And I would certainly hope they knew the significance of the day. :thumbsup2

Love the update Rob! The caption with the Dans was priceless. You had me laughing out loud!

Oh you must dress as a Move it Shake it dude! You must!

I always aim to have a fun wandering morning like yours, but I can't seem to stop rushing around! :rotfl:

Yummmmmm. I think the huge cinnamon roll and brew look great. I'm going to try that brew next trip!

Aww thanks Rachel. I really appreciate that!!!

You know, I wondered that myself. I figured they were either doing something for the parade taping a day early (though I saw no cameras), or people were dressed for that night's MVMCP. I expect it was for the party.

Oh me too, and SO comfortable.

Thank you. It is such a wonderful show.

So far it was super. But some of the best is yet to come.

It's a perfect combination. Sugar... check. Sugar... check. Done.

That's certainly possible Dani. People do hate change. My understanding is it has something to do with the frosting? All I know is I liked it.

Haha, that still cracks me up. Can you even imagine?

OMG me too. I was so excited that they were together. I've never seen that before. They sure did know what that day meant. To have them and the Dans was awesome. Just one more to go to make it perfect...

Omg YES PLEASE dress up as a Move It Shake It dancer for MNSSHP!!! :thumbsup2

Oh God Lia TRUST ME!! If I'm there this fall (and I fully plan to be), it will be in a Move It Shake costume. Guaranteed!

Love the update Rob! The caption with the Dans was priceless. You had me laughing out loud!

Aww thanks Shannon. Those Dans just so impress me keeping all those names straight.

Oh I will. I will!

Haha, if I had a little one to keep entertained, I'd be moving too. But, when you combine a solo morning with having been there so much, it's much easier to take it slow. Tell you what. After you show me your crowd entry technique, I'll show you my wandering aimlessly technique.

Oh you MUST!!!! The Brew is so good and truly unique. It's almost a meal all on its own. Very filling and an absolute MUST DO!

Yay for Dream Along With Mickey!! Such a great show, from start to finish. Wendy's pose is perfect!

I'm a big fan of Move It Shake It too. I think that would make a FANTASTIC costume!!

How do you ever tell all your Dan friends apart?? I guess it doesn't matter if they are all named Dan anyway. :rotfl:

Isn't it wonderful?? I'm so happy it exists. It really gets you in the Disney mood. Ahh I was so happy to capture Wendy mid spin.

I am so obsessed with the parade/party. It's just flat out fun. I so want to make this costume. I better get crackin'.

It was just lucky. I was so scared I'd get one wrong.

Trying to catch up after falling behind while we were away.

That breakfast looks sooooo good right now. Yes, that should be enough sugar to get you through the day in MK! :goodvibes Or at least until 2pm.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around a 60 minute wait time for the Tree House after seeing your pictures. :rolleyes1

And I LOVE your Small World t-shirt!

Oh Dave I can certainly sympathize. It took me a full solid day after last trip.

It really was good too. I would never have something like that at home, but when in Disney...

Hehe, can you imagine what that would really look like at a 60 minute wait? The entire treehouse would have to be filled with people. That would be quite the image.

Aww thanks. That is without a doubt my most "conversational" shirt.

"ALL OUR DREAMS CAN COME TRUE
IF WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO PURSUE THEM"
Day 3 – December 5, 2013 Part 3

I moved along into Fantasyland again where I came upon a much sought after meet going on.
In fact, the group behind me became the cutoff point so my timing was perfect.
I had a really great conversation with them and the little girl they were with was just so excited that I just let them go on ahead of me.
It may not have been the wisest choice time wise as they took a TON of pictures, but seeing the little one interact was so worth it.

Finally it was my turn to meet who the guy in the prior group referred to as the “pretty Wendy”, and of course Gym-Rat Peter.
He must spend a lot of time bench pressing Lost Boys is all I'm saying.

108.jpg

I had never met either of them before, so two more off the character bucket list.
After visiting Neverland, I was back out on Main Street catching Move It Shake It once again and receiving much love from Minnie.

109.jpg

Seriously, she proposed and continued her flirting all the way down the street.
It was awesome, but Mickey... You need to pay attention.

110.jpg

I went back into Fantasyland from the other direction and watched as Tigger and Pooh headed off for a break.
Tigger, however, being the mischievous sort, followed behind this couple, only inches from the back of the lady’s head.
Sensing something was amiss, she slowly turned around only to come face to… snout… with a giant bouncing Tiger.

She SCREAMED!!!! I LAUGHED!!!!!,

But in the end all was forgiven, but it was one of the funniest things I ever saw.

111.jpg

Continuing on I was extremely excited to see all the activity happening on the mine train,
As I’m sure the workers were inspired by the ride’s namesake dwarf’s work ethic.

112.jpg

I would be wrong however. Are they ever going to finish this thing???
Seriously, they built all of Disneyland in 1 year. ONE YEAR!!! In 1955!!!!

I continued on my loop before returning to Main Street passing the Tangled bathrooms on the way,
And proving once and for all that Santa does indeed vacation in Walt Disney World, even that close to Christmas.

113.jpg

It was getting near time for the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade, so I wanted to find a spot to watch.
I’m not a huge fan, but since it was being replaced in the New Year, I wanted to watch it one last time.
I found an unoccupied spot near the corner of Main Street and Town Square.
The times guide had the parade starting on Main Street, so I though this would be a great spot to see the parade.
Unfortunately, Disney changed this and actually started the parade in Frontierland, which meant I would be waiting much longer than I hoped…

… And I had a VERY important FastPass engagement to attend.

I passed the time conversing with the couple seated next to me and, after a much longer wait than originally anticipated,
The parade finally appeared, fronted by a HUGE chorus of school dancers representing schools from all over North America.
I had to give these ladies (and a few gents and well) credit as it was hot, and it is not easy to walk from Frontierland to Main Street, let alone DANCE!!
And yes they were dancing to “Run Run Rudolph” as evidenced by their reindeer antlers.

The school groups were followed by the Main Street Philharmonic (always a treat).

122.jpg

123.jpg

I had a little bit of fun at this point as I exclaimed what a wonderful parade that was, and the couple next to me almost left, believing that was it.
Sometimes you just have to create you own fun.

A few minutes later (actually almost 15 minutes later) the Grand Marshal vehicle arrived,

124.jpg

With hidden Mickey adorned tires and holiday accouterment,

125.jpg

Signaling that the Parade was finally here.

I’m still not a huge fan of this, but I am glad I got to see it one last time before it left for good.
Now bring on the Festival of Fantasy.

Thankfully the parade ended with time still left on my precious Fastpass, and the location was right around the corner.
I was in and through the line in no time.
The only question remaining was... Which one would I get???

My heart was pounding with anticipation as I was led into the room and was greeted by Mickey the Magician…

TALKING!!!!!!

I seriously almost died right there and there are no words to describe the feeling.
I have been meeting Mickey since I was a little kid and never could understand why he never talked.

mm.jpg

Finally, after all these years, he was. It was truly surreal and VERY emotional.

And he didn’t just talk to me …. Oh no no…

Mickey…

In his own voice…

WISHED ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

It was at that point that I think I did die, if only briefly.
That mouse is family, and there was no way I was leaving Magic Kingdom on this day without this photo.

148.jpg

It brings tears to my eyes even now seeing this photo with Talking Mickey pointing at the "Happy Birthday Walt" sign.

150.jpg

This really was an experience that went by quickly and yet seemed frozen in time as well.
I will never forget the day Mickey talked to me, December 5, 2013, Walt’s Birthday.

I soared out of Magic Kingdom on an extreme high… and a high that would only continue to build throughout the day.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Catching up! I love the castle shows, but I never stop to watch them, and I don't know why...I'm always in a hurry I guess, this is why I need a solo trip someday! :rotfl:

Ooh a Move it Shake it costume for MNSSHP would be amazing!! I'm considering going to MNSSHP this year, and I need to come up with a creative costume like that...something that represents the parks, and something that is my favorite. If only I could dress up as the Tower of Terror...:rotfl2:

Don't worry, I never had a cinnamon roll from MSB either, so if I ever get one at Gaston's, I'll have nothing to compare it to! I'm sure it's yummy, that picture of it looked so good!!

I kind of wish I saw the parade one last time before it left, but as usual, no time! :confused3 I don't know, I just can't do afternoon parades! I am excited for the new one though, it looks like it's going to be really cool!

OMG talking Mickey!!!!! :faint: I still cannot believe that he TALKS!!! And he wished you a happy birthday! Best birthday ever!!! And on Walt's birthday...I don't know how you weren't crying in a ball on the floor after that interaction was over! I really need to meet talking Mickey on my next trip! :thumbsup2

Wow, Peter, what gym with a tanning bed do they have there in neverland? I'm sure his interaction was very fun though. I've never met Wendy & I really want to but their line is always crazy long.

Great parade shots!! Hello there Dale! I love him. Belle's dress is just gorgeous! Props to those dancers. I applaud them & hope they all drank a lot of water after their performance. I can't imagine dancing from frontierland to Main Street. Maybe when I was 14, but... MK has magical powers though so maybe we could dance for an extended distance!

There are no words for talking Mickey. That is at the top of my list for next week. I LOVE that he pointed to the sign. How magical! When I visited for the first time as an adult, I noticed the phrase it all started with a mouse & that really stuck with me. Now that Mickey can wish children & grown children alike a happy birthday...that has always been the dream for us all. That's the true magic of Disney. I'm so happy you got to experience this, for your birthday & Walt's! What a wonderfully dreamy memory.

Loving your trip report! popcorn::

Always happy to find fellow Nova Scotians on the Disboards. :cool1:

Every year I say THIS will be the year I try a SOLO trip to Walt Disney World.
You may be giving me the nudge I need to do it! :goodvibes

Fun update Rob! I love the story about Tigger surprising that couple. Too funny.

Am I losing my mind or are Cindy and Ariel supposed to be up on the float rather than walking? I swear I've seen that parade way too many times, and I don't think I've ever seen them walking!

Gym-Rat Peter. :rotfl2: Looks accurate!

Did talking Mickey freak you out at all? Do you think it will be weird for kids? Especially one who takes her character M&G very very seriously and knows darn well that Mickey's never spoken to her before????

Neverland....where you never grow up, but can apparently buff up like no one's business. So sad to know that Peter might be on the juice. :worried: He's seriously a scary Pan.

So cool that you got to share that moment with talking Mickey. I know that has to mean so much to you. I mean, come on...you practically grew up in Disney World. We didn't get to see talking Mickey when we were there. I so wanted to, but my kids weren't feeling it. :confused3

Great update man! :thumbsup2

So glad you finally got to meet Peter and Wendy! Peter looks gooooood.

That is too funny about Tigger! He's a mischievous one.

Did I ever tell you my sister's dance school performed at MK just before the parade? Except it was in June...and they were wearing heels...I felt for her, that was TOUGH.

Yeah, this parade has never been my favorite, but I'm VERY excited for Festival of Fantasy.

Rob, I am SO GLAD you got to meet Talking Mickey! I go on an emotional rant when I get to that in my TR, but rest assured tears were shed. And how perfect to have it happen on Walt's birthday. :goodvibes

I'm so happy for you! How magical you got to talk to Mickey on Walt's birthday right after your own. I haven't been sold on the idea of talking Mickey before, but now I am coming around! Can't wait to read about the rest of the trip!

ok, I must be a bad person because my first thought after reading that you came upon, what was referred to as the “pretty Wendy” is picture that family coming across that meet & greet at another time and being all "hey everyone, let's go meet .... aw, never mind, it's just ugly Wendy" ;)

That's sounds like a funny scene with Tigger following that lady ... again, Bad Phil coming out wondering if he has ever tried that and the person freaked out and like pepper sprayed him or something

'I’m sure the workers were inspired by the ride’s namesake dwarf’s work ethic .... I would be wrong however." .... needs more whistling I guess

Ok, that shot of Gippetto is a littel creepy and totally justifies it to me why kids can get scared of the characters

wait a minute, with the other princesses, gasp, walking! Did that mean they didn't use the mirrored castle float thing that they seem to use in every parade? Perhaps hope it won't get reused in the Festival of Fantasy parade :woohoo:

That's a great pic with Talking Mickey pointing to the Happy Birthday Walt sign!
