"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

I live about 20 mins away from Hershey, PA where they make the chocolate. I didn't realize they had big stores like that all over. It's just so crazy that that small town is home to such a large international company, instead of just a local thing. It is some awesome chocolate though.

That arcade looks really fun too. Looks like you had a great day!

All caught up.. and craving some chocolate now! :rotfl:

That wax museum looks like a lot of fun! I have only ever been to two, the one in Vegas and one in Salem, MA. The one in Salem is all scary monsters! :stir:

Glad to hear you were having a blast on your mini reunion trip!

Oh my Lord, you live in heaven!!! I've always wanted to visit Hershey, especially Hershey Park. This is actually the first Hershey store I'd seen but I'm sure there are many. In my humble opinion they make the absolute best chocolate.

I'm not generally a big video game fan, but this place really was a blast. So many different types of things to do, and really, it was just fun to play.

Haha, I know right?!! Sorry about that...

I usually do enjoy wax museums. This one certainly wasn't the best, but it was fine. They did have some scary monster stuff in there and poor Hailey was just terrified. Riley on the other hand thought it was "cool".

Oh for sure, and still more to come.

"DON'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S OVER, SMILE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED"
A Very Merry Intermission - July 18, 2014 Part 3

The next stop as part of our Clifton Hill Funpass tour was the ginormous Niagara Sky Wheel.

70.jpg

The girls were excited, as was I… Carrie, not so much.

71.jpg

72.jpg

Carrie does not like this, so initially it was just going to be the girls and me.
But finally she decided she would suck it up and come on as well… just no rocking, lol.

73.jpg

I was so touched that both kids wanted to sit by me, so I told them I would sit in the middle so they could both do that.

The main feature of this ride is the spectacular view it provides, so no words are really necessary.

All together (and much to Carrie’s displeasure), we went around 5 times.

Not too shabby.

A Very Merry Intermission - July 18, 2014 Part 3 Continued

The final item remaining on our Fun Pass was Mini Golf, which was located right where we got off the Sky Wheel.

But first… the Divas posed.

I was elected to keep score, but I totally sucked at that, so let’s just forget about scores shall we?
In fact I somehow completely missed filling in the score for one hole (I have no idea which one),
Or we completely missed playing a hole… Or there are only 17 holes.

Regardless, let’s just say I won and leave it at that.

Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long before this happened… Hidden Mickey’s everywhere.

89.jpg

Also of note…Riley had blue and I had orange… The colors of Canadia.

Riley hauled out her mad skills at one point, dropping the first Hole In One of the group.
Thankfully she didn’t let it go to her head or get cocky at all…

92.jpg

Not long after though, I joined her elite group by dropping a Hole In One of my own.
So it became a two person very exclusive club, with a newly created Club Sign.

93.jpg

We may not have been particularly creative, but we rock!!

We also spotted yet another Hidden Mickey on the course which I made sure to document.

94.jpg

95.jpg

After we finished up our game, we headed out to get some dinner.

But first… we had to make a quick stop.

96.jpg

Yup, Hershey Store… Fudge Store… and now Sugar Store.

Lots of candy, but what really caught my attention was these…

97.jpg

98.jpg

100.jpg

Yes, these are real bugs, BUT there is no way I would buy something with a disgusting creature in it unless it rhymes with Tequila.

We decided to eat at Kelsey’s for dinner, where Hailey once again proclaimed she was sitting by me.
This prompted Riley to complain to Mom… “But she sat next to him last time!!!”

I love these kids.

Riley had agreed to help her Grandmother with a craft sale the next day, so sadly, I wouldn’t see her at all.
Her Grandmother was going to come into the Falls to pick them all up, but we still had a bit of time for some shopping.

Carrie suggested a nearby liquidation outlet that would be significantly cheaper than buying stuff in the tourist area,
So we loaded into Bumble Bee and off we went.

101.jpg

I did get a Niagara Falls shirt, and this is actually the very place where Riley came up with the Canadia Flag design.

After leaving here, Carrie called her mother to set up a meeting time, and we still had some time to kill, so…

102.jpg

Nice photobomb Hailey… Let’s try again…

103.jpg

OK, let’s get this out of the way now.
Many people may be thinking… You’re in Niagara Falls, and you went to Target???

Truth be told, all of the attractions and sights to see were completely secondary to me.
Seeing and spending as much time as possible with them was my number one priority,
Whether it be at the Falls, on a Sky Wheel, on a ride, or yes, at Target.

And besides, upon entering I got one of my favorite photos of the trip as Ry and I attempted to recreate a very special moment.
You may remember the following from the very first night I met Carrie and Riley in Disney.

122.jpg

Unfortunately there were no Hook hands available, but it was still a glorious and special moment to share with Ry… again.

104.jpg

Of course, Hailey wanted in on the action as well.

105.jpg

We actually had quite the fun time at Target and upon finding out that the $1 items were on sale for as little as $0.30,
Carrie ended up buying a ton of items for her and Hailey’s trip in December.

Finally it was time to meet Carrie’s mom at Dairy Queen, which was just down the street from my hotel,
Which I hadn’t actually even been in yet.

Her mom showed up shortly after we arrived, so it was soon time to say goodbye, which absolutely sucked.
I would see Hailey and Carrie the next day, but I wouldn’t see Riley until the day after (which super size sucked).

So I made sure to get in a big hug before they departed.

Just a wonderful first day in the Falls.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Beautiful ferris wheel pics, Rob! Such a great view of the falls.

EWWWWWWW BUG CANDY

Hey, when you're with great people, Target is just like Disney! Well, almost.

I think I am behind a couple updates, but really enjoyed this one. The views from that sky wheel (or whatever its called) are simply amazing. I just got a new passport so I might have to make my way up there. WOW! It looks a little scary, but well with the views.

It looks like you and the girls are having such a great time. what fun!

Now let me get caught up again!

Love the Falls. We live about 20 minutes from them on the US side but the Canadian side has better views and stuff to do.
I also love Target....

The view from atop the wheel is awesome! Good of ya'll not to rock...way to go Carrie for doing it. :thumbsup2

Hole in one for you two. Yeah!

That candy looks disgusting!:scared1:

What a fun day you had! The view of the falls from the big Ferris wheel is amazing! We have one of those here in Chicago at Navy Pier, but it only goes around once. :sad1:

The Niagara Falls area has changed a lot since we were there in 1990. With all those expensive souvenir stores and other places to spend money, a vacation at WDW might seem like a bargain. ;) I can see why you went to Target for the .30 specials. :thumbsup2

The Skywheel looks pretty awesome!

And EWWW on the bud candy! They have some of that at Universal when you come off the Mummy ride. My cousin bought them last time we were there and I never could get the courage to try them.. so gross!

what a great view from the Niagra Wheel - can definitely get a sense for how broad the falls are

Wow, an official flag, and now an official sign! At this point I think all you are missing now is some dissenting group to complain about the governmental leadership ;)

Bummer about not seeing Riley the next day - but sounds like for a good reason - and at least it wasn't the last time you would see her that trip

Wow, what a view from the sky wheel!! Love it!
Mini golf looks fun!
OMG BUG CANDY???? I literally just gagged on my breakfast. Why why why would anyone make that??

Wow, great pictures on the Sky Wheel. Quite the view!

I love mini golf! Looks like it was fun!

So cute that the girls were fighting over you!! And I love the pictures you and Riley recreated.

I'm so glad it was such a wonderful day for you all :)

I'm with Carrie, the Sky Wheel looks terrifying. Beautiful views, no doubt, but terrifying. I would have sat it out.

Mini golf is more fun without the scores anyway ;)

You should trademark the club sign before everyone else steals it.

Ewww bugs. I don't understand why people want to eat them.

You're so popular Rob, of course they're fighting to sit next to you.

I think you worked well with what you had to recreate the photo. But sad day that Riley wouldn't be around the next day.

I had no idea there was so much activity right near Niagara Falls! I went there once on a high school band trip (:woohoo:), but don't remember any of that! Looks like a fun day :)

Great updates Rob! Hershey Store, Fudge Store, Frozen Yogurt, and Sugar Store? Perfect!

THe sky wheel looked like a lot of fun! Gorgeous views.

I think it's important to go to Target no matter where you are! Target is fabulous!

That might be one heck of view, but....oh my goodness that Sky Wheel looks terrifying!:rotfl:
Don't think you could pay me to go on that thing.

And, oh jeez, bugs in a sugar store. Think I'd have to pass on that, as well. :lmao:

Very nice recreation of your Pirates picture. A new tradition?

Oh, what a bummer that you wouldn't be seeing Riley again. Least you had a great day, though. Very memorable.

I don't know if I could force myself to get on the Skywheel. I am so terrified of heights. Awesome pictures from up there though. So cute that the girls were fighting over who gets to sit next to you. :goodvibes

That bug candy looks disgusting. I can't imagine even wanting to eat any of that. :crazy2: I will stick with bug free Hershey chocolate, thanks.

Looks like such a great time and you are getting to do so much stuff.

Great re-creation of your epic battle in Target.

I so need to get back to the Falls and hit the Canadian side with the kids, that Mini golf looks like so much fun, not to mention the arcade and the Hershey store. :)
