"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Just found your report. Starting to read ;)

YAY WELCOME my fellow Canadian!!!

Wow that is a long flight. And flying to WDW always feels like it takes forever!

Yeah it's pretty long, just under 4 hours direct, but longer with layovers. And YES it does feel like it takes forever. Of course, I'd probably feel that way on a half hour flight too.

Nice location for the room. I love POP. Such a fun resort.
The cheesecake looks so small now.
Love those buildings and pool. We always request that section.
She was missing from our tv also when we checked into SSR but did come back eventually and hopefully she did come back to you too.
Great update.

It was a perfect locaton Scott. I've just fallen in love with the place, I really have.

Haha, Small is an understatement. It's pathetic.

I will for sure be asking for 50's from now on. I loved it.

Seriously??!! What is wrong with Disney? I'm hopeful she will return. ;)

Aww Thanks!!

Rob! I feel like I'm arriving late to this party (pun intended ;) )

I don't know how I'm just subscribing to your 3rd TR NOOOOW but that's ok because I'm here now. But (very) soon, I'll be there (Disney) so I'll try my best to read what you have wrote before that!

Aww Meg, you're not late. I've been going slow waiting for you to show up. ;) We'll call it "fashionably late."

Haha, it's all good, because you're right, YOU'RE HERE NOW!! Or at least until you head back to the World in TWO DAYS!! You lucky duck. Have a ridiculously good time and say hello to Ariel for me!!

Fellow Canadian subbing to your TR.
Our family stayed at POP for the first time, was really impressed considering it was a value.
Enjoyed your paraphrasing of the My Magic :lmao:
Can't wait to read up on your adventures. pixiedust:

Well hello fellow Canadian. I am so very pleased to welcome you!! Thanks so much for being here!!

I think POP is great. There's nothing fancy about it, but it sure is fun. I just love it.

Haha, Thank you!!

YAY, more coming very soon!!

Just stalking, I mean checking in to see how things were going. Looking forward to the next update!

Hi Rob! First chance to check in and was delighted to see your new trip report. I absolutely loved your last one and can't wait to catch up! It sounds like a perfectly magical time. Love the way you make me feel like I am right back at my "happy place!" :tink:

"YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO WISH UPON A STAR"
Day 2 – December 4, 2013 Part 1

I woke up today with ridiculous energy and excitement.
Of course, that's probably not surprising as it was my first full Disney day, and…
IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY!!!! :bday:
The dream of waking in Disney on my birthday was now fulfilled and it felt AMAZING.
I highly recommend it.

I had set my alarm for 6:30, as I wanted to allow myself plenty of time to get ready and get over to my very first destination.
The alarm, however, never came into play. I guess I was just too excited.

I was literally bouncing around the room with an energy that only being in Disney can fuel.

I posted on Facebook:
"OK... Let's Do This!"

01.jpg

I did a quick check to see if Stacey had magically appeared while I slept, but still no signal on that channel.
You know, perhaps POP was simply trying to ensure I would actually leave my room on occasion.

Anyway, I got showered and dressed,
Putting on the only home made shirt that would make sense for such a significant day,
(And to at least temporarily get me over the no Stacey hump,
Always have a backup plan, and YES this is a legit signed photo, but I added the princess part as she’s not that vain),

01a.jpg

And was on my way… but not before snagging a few early morning photos since I love watching Disney "wake up".

I made a quick stop at the food court to grab a coffee to go, and was soon in the car and now REALLY on my way.

Some of you may be wondering what my destination was.
But if you read my last trip report, you would know that there was only one perfect way to start my Disney birthday…

…And the place in question magically had Extra Magic Hours this morning.

I was quickly in and on my way to my ultimate objective.

I posted on Facebook:
"Heading to MGM in a bit, but needed to visit a special friend first!"

With no wait at all, I was on the train and off on my first ride... Birthday style...
... Which is NOT in fact like Gangnam style because... You know...

09a.jpg

Despite not being allowed to dance, I didn't care.
It's my birthday and I'll dance if I want to, dance if I want to. You would dance too if it happened to you!

I had a plan for my first ride photo, I really did. I had a sign ready to mark the occasion and then…

19.jpg

EPIC… FAIL!!!!!!!!

But I would not be denied, so I hustled through the non existent queue line again to commemorate this momentous occasion.

Back in April, I managed to ride Everest 7 times in row, so my goal was to beat that, which for those keeping track, would mean 8 in a row.
I am happy to report that I indeed was successful in this quest, but unfortunately, Photopass was not so successful, as four of the photos did not show up.
Or I completely forgot to add them to my Attractions+ card in my euphoric state.

I did became best buds with the young lady manning (womanning?) the ride photo display who writes down the number for you.
I think the fact that I showed up there every few minutes amused her.
It actually got to the point where she had the number filled out and in her hand before I even got to her.
“Here ya go… See you in a couple of minutes”

Also, it appeared that the camera timing was a bit off, as it seemed to snap too early,
So I am ever so lucky and grateful that THIS gem made it onto my card…

21.jpg

Yeah, that would be me in the back left hand corner behind the hand. I understand that it’s early and I may not look my best, but geez.
I do appreciate “Sleeping Guy” in the front row though.

And for the sake of completeness, here’s the last photo I actually have.

22.jpg

As I was nearing my 8th ride in a row, I thought it would be kinda cool to just make it an even 10.
But after the 8th, the line was starting to build as the park was now officially open, they hadn’t opened single rider yet, AND,

I WAS ABSOLUTELY STARVING!!

In my quest to get to Everest, I had completely forgone any breakfast, and I was now really starting to feel it.
I know a lot of people would avoid riding after they just ate for obvious reasons, but NOT eating creates a similar sensation.
So, I made the tough decision to head back to POP to regroup and eat something before I set out on my next adventure…

… One that would include my very first DISmeet EVER.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Yay it's birthday day! pixiedust:

Great early morning Pop photos :thumbsup2

Riding EE is a GREAT way to start your birthday! Glad you beat your previous record, love the ride photo with the sign!

I've been a victim of forgetting to eat at Disney..it's not a fun feeling!

Oh man, still no Stacey on your birthday?! You make up for it with the AWESOME shirt, though!

Good job on looping Everest! Definitely a great start to your birthday.

Excited to hear about the Dismeet!

Woo hooo it's your BIRTHDAAAAYYY!!!! party: :bday:

I always seem to get up before the alarm goes off in Disney, too. Who can sleep in Disney?! But at home? Forget it.

Your shirt is epic. Seriously. Best shirt idea... EVER! :thumbsup2 Did you send a picture of you wearing it over to Stacey?

8 times on Everest is AWESOME! My son would probably LOVE trying to make that goal happen!

Birthday!!!!!!!! Who can sleep at Disney, that's a tough one to pull off. I love that shirt. I know you got compliments on it. I spent my birthday at the Animal Kingdom too. :)

Awwwwwww Disney birthdays are the absolute best, aren't they? I specifically planned my trip around my birthday back in September... Just nowhere else I'd rather be! :cloud9:

Wow, 8 times! My stomach is doing somersaults just thinking about it! :rotfl:

Your shirt is awesome!!!

I don't think my body would make it through one time on that ride. Good job!

Happy birthday!!! I think it is so amazing that you got to do Disney on the actual day of your birthday&what a treat! Also your start to the day is majorly impressive. I did 3 rides in a row on EE last time I was there and started to feel majorly jostled. I don't think I could do 8 in a row! The freedom to do something like that when the spirit moves you seems like a really great part about doing a solo trip, too. Can't wait to read more!

Well it's settled. I need to spend my birthday at Disney some time. Do you think it's too late for me to get there by tomorrow? :rotfl2: Maybe I'll have to shoot for next year!

LOVE the shirt!

Wow, 8 rides in a row?? Awesome! But on an empty stomach? Wow, tough stuff! Love the Best Birthday sign!

Excited to read about your first DisMeet!

Ahhh what a great way to start your birthday! Of course it worked out nicely to have EMH at AK that day so you could challenge your EE record. Well done! I can clearly see Stacey in the EE photo that only has your arm. She seemed to enjoy the ride. :)

Too bad not all the photos turned out. Loved your poses last time and it looks like you had a new one or two. Very nice. :thumbsup2

You sure are a patient man. You're not indignant and calling management to have the Stacey TV issue resolved!

Go Rob...it's your birfday..... ;)

Still no Stacey?! What a bummer. However, very appropriate that you wore her shirt that day. :thumbsup2

Awwwwww....but gangnam style EE riding would be so fun.

Sign fail!

It's okay, you don't have to prove you rode it 8 times. We believe you!

Um, the appropriate term would be personning.....:rotfl2:

I do sleeping guy sometimes too! Girl....person...well you know!

I remember you posting the "Let's do this" on facebook that day!!! LOL

That guy who looked like he was sleeping is making me laugh out loud.

You are brave for doing the YETI with nothing on your tummy. EEEEKKK!!!

I have been so far removed from the trip reports section that I didn't know you started this! So excited to read about your trip

I love EE, but I don't if I could ride it eight times in a row. You are my new hero Rob. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading about your DISMeet.

I loved your comment about watching Disney "wake up". That is one of my favorite parts of my Disney trips!
