Hi,

We'll be taking out two daughters aged 4 and 8 to Disney World this summer, and I was looking at the Enchanted Tales with Belle and started wondering if this is something for us. From what I understand some kids will be picked to "perform" in an act with Belle. These kids apparently also get to have their photo taken with Belle?

My girls are both rather shy, and do not speak english, so I am guessing they will not be chosen to participate (and that's ok!). But what about the photo opportunity - does that really only apply to kids who are a) "brave" enough to participate and b) gets chosen to participate?

We've been twice, and after the participating kids got their moment the CMs asked if anyone else wanted a quick photo.

My DW went in with my DD(4) and she said that every kid is chosen to play a part, from the beast to the silverware. My DD was chosen to be the beast and so we have a bunch of pictures of her dancing with Belle but they have a photographer that takes pictures of all the kids that played a part.

I would definitely get a FP for it if you can because the lines are long & it's soooo fun! Everyone gets a part who wants one, which is so nice. All your girls have to do is raise their hands & they will be assigned a part, even my husband was a knight! The sweetest was my little one got chosen to be the beast. And yes, in the end there are photos with Belle. I would think if someone could show your girls where to stand and how to hold their prop, they could be involved without speaking English. Keep in mind however that no flash photography is allowed so I depended on the photo pass photographers for our pictures. Have fun!

Do the photos wind up on your Memory Maker? Or do you have to take a Photopass card?

When we were there in June, every child had the opportunity to meet Belle and have a photo taken at the conclusion of the "play." My granddaughter didn't want a part in the play but she still had her photo taken with Belle.

My 8 year old turned down the chance to be in the play but I think they offered her a chance at a photo, which she also turned down.

We got a photopass card for it last year, not sure if this is still the case

They hand out photopass cards as you walk out. You can add the card to your memory maker. It is going to have everybody's photos from that session with belle, so you can just delete the photos you don't want.

Does anyone know what time this starts? As DD and I will be doing RD alone one day as we are the only early risers... LOL

I had just planned on RD ceremony and Anna and Elsa. Think i could get both in before 11 am?

If you do RD Anna and Elsa and you're near the front you should get done there within about 30 minutes and have plenty of time to get over to Enchanted Tales.

We have done this several times. They do not always announce at the end that if any children not participating want photos to get in line, so do not wait for the announcement. If your girls decide not to participate in the play, but want photos, when they line the kids up for photos send your girls over to get in the line. They will definitely be allowed in the photo line.

You likely will not get to take a picture with your own camera. They rush kids through the line. If you happen to be seated in the area where you are lined up to get a photo, you can do it with your camera, but they will not wait for you to move in place, and we have been there when they instructed parents who tried to move across to get in position to take a photo with their camera to stay seated. (We have also been there times when some parents moved and nothing was said, so you never know). You will get a card that has the photopass number for the entire session. When you plug that in, the whole session will be added to your account. It is the only way you can get a photo with Belle in her gold dress unless you are eating at Akershus, but it is a pain because you will have about 100 photos of people you don't know in your photopass account that you have to delete one by one.

In 2013 we hadn't figured on doing this because the line was way too long...but we went by it with 5 minutes before closing and it was a ghost-town! We walked right in and just had to wait for a previous show to conclude (5 minutes)...so that's another option. Anyone can get their pictures and many of the parts are just holding a prop

We did this late at night and loved avoiding a long line. It was strange though to have the performance just as rushed as it was when we waited over an hour the month it first opened. My daughter got in line for a photo and despite being experienced at this and very quick with my camera, I couldn't even get one shot off before she pushed her off. We had to go back through a second time for me to get a photo. Good thing there was no line.

Do be aware though that sometimes when the traffic is really slow they will hold things up waiting for others to arrive so there are enough to play parts and participate.
