Encanto ride and Colombia in the world showcase

TBH I'm so tired of European countries always being showcased in things like this. Give me new cultures please, out of 11 "countries" in the showcase 5 are European, 2 are Asian, 2 are North American, 1 is African and 1 is Latin American. We could use a little variety away from even more European countries me thinks.

Nothing against Russia or Greece, I'm the biggest Greece fan but yeah haha

Yeah, but as I mentioned before, the sponsorship of the pavilion was the key and unfortunately a lot of the other countries aren't in a position or just wouldn't really benefit from it. I'd love to see more, especially a South American entry, but I'm not sure the economics work out for them. Maybe Brazil is the best bet. I would definitely prefer something different, though I'll take whatever we can get. Greece would be amazing architecturally, though I doubt they are chomping at the bit to get one too. Norway and Morocco no longer sponsor their pavillions either, but it's not like they can just be easily changed. Maybe if Disney wanted to do it without a sponsor...yeah right! 🙄

I agree, but 3 are North American. Mexico is in North America and is part of Latin America. We have no South American representation.

As a Mexican, I never count us as North American because the others never count us haha but technically speaking you are correct. Which is why I said Latin America.
South American wise, I would love something like Chile for example with the big stone heads or as BrianL mentioned, Brazil would be so beautiful.

Disney cough up the money yourself already!

You're not wrong there, there are a lot of dumb people around. I've seen some who don't even think Canada is in North America because to them it's just the US (is has AMERICA in it, duh! 🤦‍♀️).

I would love any South American country in Epcot. I wouldn't mind a South American area in Animal Kingdom, either.

Id love an Australian area in AK. And I think Columbia(with an Encanto ride), Peru(with an emperors new groove water ride), India should be here, and/or an addition of a country in southeast Asia would be good in World Showcase

I dont really need more Europe at Epcot.

i'm liking this vision.
more world showcase!
i am swinging on the leaf swing around casita in my head right now.
oh and don't take away anything.
and can you do it within two years?

Disney has plenty of room in World Showcase to add more countries, no reason to get creative in finding space.

Disney hasn't added a new country since 1988. That is 34 years! The park has been open 40 years ... doesn't seem like new countries are a priority.

I don't think Disney has any intention of adding any more countries, maybe a free standing attraction, with a "country" for theme of the building, tied to a highly successful IP.

The World Showcase is a venue for festivals which have been expanded so far on the calendar they are almost year round.

I'd be for it, given that Europe is over-represented, and that Encanto has given Colombia the much-needed positive PR, after years of an ill-gotten image that's not helped by films and series that focused too much on narco-gangs and not enough about the culture, heritage and diversity. Having a Colombia World Showcase pavilion would be an even bigger boost, and as much as some feel iffy about the creeping increase of IP in a previously-IP-free Epcot, who wouldn't say yes to a Casita attraction and a dedicated Encanto M&G?

General World Showcase Comments:
1) They would need to get rid of the restaurant, shops and/or la cava to have a queue area if three cabs become coco
2) there are “pads” for a few new countries (between France/Morocco, between Italy/Germany, one or two where the African outpost is and possibly where world showplace is)

Re Encanto…. Make Dinoland South American you can loosely tie Encanto with Antonio’s animal whispering and than add in Up

That's a good point - a Coco ride would likely be tremendously popular! Of course, I can't really understand why Three Cabs isn't all the popular as I love it myself, but still. I think they woul dlikely need to build a seperate entrance so the queue could snake outside.

There’s also a building in DHS that’s currently not in use that could get an updated IP from the Walt Disney Animation Studios. Gut Voyage of the Little Mermaid and turn it into a Casita style theater if they don’t want to pursue adding a country to EPCOT.

That is a great idea! I know a lot of people want a ride, but I'd love an Encanto show. Maybe they could do something cool with a mix of live sets/actors and video wall tech like the Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Studios.

I hear ya, but for me, it's not so much about where it's located on the map, but more how different the actual area would look from all of the other countries. Like I would never need to see Scotland or Ireland if I think about it because it would pretty much look like England. I could've done with just Japan OR China. In my head, Columbia or Brazil will be too similar to Mexico. With Greece I picture all of those white buildings and Russia having Red Square. Australia wouldn't be bad with the opra house, but the culture isn't very impressive IMO.

I can 100% attest that outside your head Colombia, Brasil and Mexico are not that similar. Brasil specially. Neither are Japan and China.
If the requirement is that all pavilions/ cultures represented cannot have any commonalities then we might as well bulldoze the Canada pavilion since it's vaguely similar to France, England and the USA.
I know you probably didn't mean anything by it but you sounded super ignorant.

Wow. Talk about reading waaay too much into something. I didn't say anything of the sort. Just FOR ME, with the limited space, I would like to see completely different LOOKING pavilions IF they were ever to add any and we had our preferences. Jesus.

The movie bombed at the box office. I doubt they do anything other than merchandise with it in the near term. If it’s still popular in 5 years we may get something that opens 10 years from now.

And you can’t discount that many ppl still weren’t comfortable going to the theatre.
Being afraid of going to the theater is a poor excuse when spider man has made over 1.7 billion recently. And Covid cases were worse when spider man was released as well.
