I know there are only Meijer stores in the Midwest, but just noticed all the new supplies. They are re-doing our stores here, and I noticed last night that they have two full aisles of scrapbook supplies. Albums, paper, tools, embellishments, etc. There was a ton of stuff. Lots of Doodlebug paper, etc.

And the even better news... Meijer typically runs sales on their entire stock of scrapbooking supplies (sometimes 20 or 25% off). :Pinkbounc

I'll try to watch the sale fliers and post when I see something.

Happy shopping!

I also noticed that mine had new stuff that was Disney related such as stamps, jolees etc.

aaaah none of those in the northeast I am SAFE! or at least DH's wallet is!

I also noticed this, although a lot of their more specialty items are actually produced by my LSS (scrapbook 101). This LSS is doing a ton of wholesale now and that is GREAT for us because they are very stable. Meijers is also doing some unique things - I noticed for instance that although their Dalee refill pack was priced the same as elsewhere instead of 10 pages they had 12!

Very observant Deb. I love that Scrapbook 101 is getting this kind of business from such a large chain--at a time when so many LSS are going under. My husband works with the husband of the owner of Scrapbook 101. They work very hard to keep up with the newest trends, they are very nice people. We must be close to each other geographically--Hello.

P.S. to fire14 I understand how you feel--except I am a Buckeye living in the land of Spartans.  :rotfl:

Spartans and Wolverines! Yes DeborahA we are essentially next door neighbors. wtpclc is also in our very close area - Spring Lake. Drop me an email at Deb.Patten@davenport.edu and we can compare notes.

I love 101 - and as fall ramps up I will be spending tons of money with them on photo processing once again!

Well, I was going to say that I was sorry that you missed our little crop on Saturday, but then you said you were a Buckeye.... ;) BTW - Land of teh Spartans, I don't think so! It's even worse. This area has many Wolverines!

Just kidding! We'll have to get together sometime! We've been trying to organize a larger W. MI crop forever, but our schedules never seem to lineup.

Ahhhhh - I can see this thread taking a turn for the worst.... ;)

Carrie, I feel your pain in being surrounded by all of those Wolverines! I was at the U of M/OS game last year where the collegiate attendance record was set. I had fun, but didn't want to cheer for either team!!!

And, may I add, go State! :bounce:

The "worse" part of my statement was from the viewpoint of a Buckeye. I am a true blue Wolverine fan. Grew up 20 minutes from the stadium and went to the games since I was 7. That does not maean that I do not like to see the Saprtans do weel. Buckeyes... Don't tell anyone, but I did route for OSU when they won teh National Championship. ;)

I learned at my daddy's knee that the ONLY time you cheer for one of those "other" teams is when they are the Big 10 representative at a conference game - but even then you only do it "with feeling" if they beat the Maize & Blue fair and square.

As a CMU Chippewa I still have a problem with all the johnny come latelies to the MAC too! Guess I'm a traditionalist at least that way!

Well I can see I might be in trouble here ;) My husband and I both went to OSU. Our oldest son is about to graduate from WMU, our middle is at CMU, and we will be sending our youngest off to MSU next year. That about covers all the bases--except U of M. I am not sure I could face that one. I must be a Buckeye all the way to the bone.
Funny story--our middle son attended football recruiting camp at U of M. As a part of the send off for the seniors they got their individual pic taken with L. Carr, while wearing a U of M jersey. As a joke we sent my Dad a copy of the pic. To this day he swears it must be a cardboard cutout of Carr because no Buckeye Grandson of his would be caught dead wearing the maize and blue AND standing next to that man!!
Gotta love him.

:rotfl2: It's scary how alike U of M and OSU fans are about their "hatred" for each other. My good friend married a Buckeye. The two of us have a mutual understanding that we are basically the same, just one of us was born in OH and one in MI.

We have only lived in our current neighborhood for 5 years. We lived across the street from a couple who were such huge fans that their grand-daughter was named Maize. We were worried about flying our block O flag on game days because we were new to the neighborhood. Once we got to know them everything was OK, they learned we were harmless--just mis-guided. :rotfl2: Now we have another neighbor who is a OSU fan--some of the neighbors have kidded us that they are worried because we seem to be infiltrating the neighborhood. All in fun!
Deb

That's funny! My friend's neighbor named their daughter Scarlet Gray. Now an infiltration..... :rotfl2:

Oh, Deb! A Chippewa!! I guess I'd better add go Broncos!!! :rolleyes1

And to clear the air with Carrie - I did cheer for U of M at the OSU game - in the midst of a sea of red!

I'm a grad of Western Michigan, but grandmother and I have always been state fans. One of our favorite sayings.. "My two favorite teams are Michigan State and anyone who plays Michigan."

I guess rivalries are what makes it exciting!!! I cheer mostly for my Broncos, but we've been so terrible lately it hasn't been easy!

Here's to hoping all of our teams have success this fall! :grouphug:

Wow Megan! A state fan taking her life into her own hands like that! That's impressive. :rotfl:

Unfortunatley, we can't all have good seasons. If we could, there'd be no need for rivalries! :earboy2:

I'll really mix things up with my Mush You's Huskies! They did do me proud last year, but I must admit I only went to half of one game as a student. It was WAY too cold for football games!

Yes ladies, I BLEED maroon and gold! Although from time to time people actually make me admit there is a WMU degree hanging on my wall but I tell them (under great duress!) that it is a graduate degree and I think I only stepped on the Kalamazoo campus ONCE! Besides, it is the undergrad that has ultimate loyalty right?

Just wait until next fall when CMU - with one of "my boys" from our high school team plays U of M! I'll sit in that sea of maize & blue and cheer my lungs out! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Your poor daddy. :sad1: :teeth:

If Tech ever played U of M in football, though, I'd be doing the same thing! (While praying that no one got seriously injured.)

Nah...dad is fine with that. In fact he wouldn't have it any other way. On the VERY rare occasions when he does grumble about that I simply remind him of what his "rules" were for selecting a college. That is a conversation for another day. :rolleyes1

Yep - no one getting seriously hurt is a good thing. But that game should be interesting in that Taylor from Muskegon will be playing for U of M and Cribbs from Shores for Central. Lineman against lineman - home town rivalry in the big house! :cheer2:

Ok - we have TOTALLY hijacked this thread.
