Last year, I lucked out and bought some tickets to Universal off someone who won them from a local radio station and couldn't use them due to an injury, so they sold them for half price - found off craigslist.

Recently, a bunch of ads have been coming up for $60-70 park to park tickets. Often they come in groups of 6 or 8 at a time. I talked with one person selling them and was told they were comp tickets that didn't expire or have blackout dates. To me this seems like an employee who gets them for free trying to sell them.

Is this something employees do there frequently? I assume it's technically illegal, but that it still happens.

Those don't sound like employee tickets, because they definitely have block out dates, and employees aren't given printed tickets. Their guests must redeem the tickets at the gate after they are ordered by the employee.

Sounds like a scam.

Sounds like a scam.

I was told I'd have to redeem at a kiosk with photo ID and I'd get a confirmation from Universal's website about the employee's tickets being at willcall.

i'm a tad confused...

you are buying tickets off of craigs list from an employee?

so the employee sets up tickets in your name once he receives the money?

i'm guessing this is a cheap deal then.

i don't know the ends or outs of it as i have the ap and not up on tickets unless i buy them for family members going with me.

Yes. Bought tickets from an employee. Probably frowned upon but this way everyone wins.
