I am planning a trip with my 6 and 9 yr old this upcoming January 2020...I know I'm a planner...but we did go to the parks a few year back. My youngest was 4 and oldest was 6. Now that it's been a few years I know things change all the time, but I wanted this trip to be different. Of course we will do the popular rides, but I wanted to see of any suggestions for "changing it up" a bit. Maybe go later in the day...ride some rides at night...def see the parades and fireworks as the kids fell asleep last year b/c we got to the parks so early. I know going to the parks bright and early is recommended, but then they couldn't last all night long. So any suggestions would be great! Thanks...can't wait to hear what you all have to say!

I'm the only one in my family who isn't a night owl. The rest prefer to sleep in and go to bed late.

Doing that creates some obstacles. Rope drop is definitely better for getting to ride more attractions. And crowds start picking up around 10am. So sleeping in, may mean less attractions.

We make FP for late afternoon and evening. Just be sure to schedule around fireworks and whatever else you want to see at night.

Pandora is great to see in the daytime, dusk, and dark. Dusk when the lights first come on is way different than when it's dark.

We like riding SDD in the dark. The lights in the land make it so awesome!

Riding 7DMT or Big Thunder Mt during fireworks is a great experience.

third of all: If you want to tour later in the day to be able to stay all the way to closing you can book your 3 fps later and then enjoy the parks in the evening. There's only one park with one parade and that is MK, usually the parade is at 3pm but during party season they change to 2pm

We like to get to the parks within 30-40 minutes of opening time, stay until lunch and then take a break and go back to the resort to nap or swim. We then head back to the parks in the early evening and stay until close. I schedule our 3 FPs for the morning and then once we use those we just keep grabbing an additional one until we are ready for a break. I then go ahead and schedule one for the evening, so we will have one when we return.
