EMH at MK with new opening procedure?

We're currently at Disney now, but my daughter got sick and we have missed two park days - tomorrow is our last day. We were supposed to be at Epcot, but we are considering switching to MK since it is her favorite park. We are off-site and there are EMH tomorrow morning at MK.

How does this work with the new opening procedure? Do they keep all off-site guests behind the tapstiles? Or can they walk/shop on Main Street before official opening like the regular procedure? Just trying to figure out when we might get there - we will get there earlier if we can shop, but don't want to be stuck behind turnstiles for a long time if we can't go on Main Street!

I haven't been with the new procedures, but it's my understanding that you can get all the way to the hub, just not into the lands until official opening.

Yes, this. You can get into the hub and there are CMs with magic band readers standing at the entrance to each land. EMH guests can get through there, off site guests can't until regular park opening.

I wonder how this works with off-site guests - maybe the CM's "guarding" the lands have those handheld scanners? I do hope we can at least walk around Main Street!

yes you can walk Main Street before the park opens here is what they did last month

all resort guest lines up on the left side they would scan your bands or tickets

they let us in and then 15 or so minutes latter they let the guest that were off site in this let the people get down Main Street that were on site, and then they had CM at the entrance to each land scanning bands
