Or someplace else entirely? I want to take my 13 yo daughter for a special dinner after the parks close to end our vacation together. We both love trying new food. She loves fish, sushi and Asian cuisine. If we were at WDW, I'd take her to Cal Grill (just to give you a sense of what she likes food-wise), but we're about to take our first trip to Universal. Where should we go?

I would Recommend Tchoup Tchoup :) It is such a modern & cool resteraunt unlike any that I've really seen elsewhere. When we were there for our honeymoon in 2006 they had a great Honey Garlic Steak that we haven't been able to find a contender for since.

The food was very good, a bit pricey but like I mentioned we had steak. Drinks were also expensive but if it is your 13 yo daughter I wouldnt be too worried about that :rotfl:

The colours / decor of the resteraunt were beautiful with a lily pond running the length of the dining room. I think she'd really appreciate it because it is such a trendy place. The other Emeril's resteraunts are nice as well but imo they are more formal. Tchoup Tchoup is a more unique style which would be great for a memorable birthday :) ! Hope this helps

I agree with archersgirl, Tchoup Chop is awesome. Not only is the food very delicious, but the atmosphere is really nice. It definitely adds to the experience. :)

pink elephants, I was glad to see you post this question, it was something I was wondering about myself. After looking at the menus at both places, I knew I would prefer Tchoup Chop, but I think my 15 year son and hubby would prefer Emerils in CW, but since I'm making the reservations and by the advice of others, I went ahead and made the reservations at Tchoup Chop! :cool1: Can't wait!!!!

I vote Tchoup Chop. The menu is awesome, and the Hawaiian flair will give your daughter a new cuisine to try. It is very like Asian, so she should really like it.

Tchoup Chop is one of my favorite restaurants. Enjoy.

Another vote for Tchoup Chop. On our first trip, my daughter was 14 and we tried both of Emeri's places that week. She loved Tchoup Chop and didn't find much to her liking at the other Emeril's. We plan to go to Tchoup Chop again this trip. Very nice atmosphere and great food!

Food is better, service is better, atmosphere is better, crowd is better at Tchoup Chop.
We still enjoy Emeril's but feel somewhat rushed and less pampered.

Try lunch at Mythos as well,a similar cuisine in the park(IOA)with great theming.Go early so you won't still be full.Meals at USO are a little more relaxed than at WDW.

We try to get to Tchoup Chop several times a year, quite a feat when we have at the USO,SW and WDW restaurants that we love to go to as well.

I think our plan that Sunday will be wake up, grab a Cinnabon at park opening (love those buns), ride rides, go to Mythos, ride more rides, then head to Tchoup Chop after the parks close. Sounds like a great day all around.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.

:thumbsup2Sounds exactly like my favorites:cloud9: all day,have fun.Nothing is better than family,fun and food:grouphug:

I am tied up til Sept. with work and stuff but Magical Dining Month had both reaurants last year for $29 so we hope to get down then.
