I need a patch for my backpack for karate class that I can put on the pocket that contains my emergency solu-cortef injectibles. It needs to say something like "Emergency Medication Inside" or something like that, preferably with the medic-alert symbol thingie on it so it's NOTICEABLE! It MUST stand out. When I go into crisis, everyone around me needs to know where that medication is in a hurry. Anyone know where I could get anything like that? I want it to look nice because my gear bag is a very nice bag. I don't want it to look frumpy. I would prefer that it be a nice embroidered patch.

Please play nice. I'm only posting here because I need to get this ASAP and I don't know anywhere else to ask.

YES this is IMPORTANT! It could mean life or death for me. So no judging whether or not I need this please. Thank you.

Any embroidery shop with a computerized machine should be able to do it, you will have e to find or create the image and take it to them in either electronic format or printed to have them scan.

Thanks! I'm not sure where I'm going to find one of those shops, but I guess I'll look tomorrow. I'm surprised they didn't have any generic ones on the SD equipment websites, I'm sure that people carry their meds in their dog's backpacks. It would make sense to direct emergency workers directly to it. :confused3

You can try patchesrus.com or could also ask around a sewing shop to see if they know of somewhere that could do what you want. I'd suggest a simple red cross. It's bright and the point of it is pretty universal.

How about this?
Medic alert embroidered tag- they made it for seatbelts, but they show it attached to backpacks, etc. If it didn't work as they show on the picture, you could cut out the part with the embroidery on and sew it to your bag. You could also print the picture and use it as a guide for a local embroidery shop to do for you.

I did quite a bit of searching and most of what I found was for Emergency response personnel. I think that is probably what you will find unless you can get someone to custom do one for you.

Good luck

Maybe this is too simplistic, but how about just a drawstring bag in a bright color, that you put on the counter while you're in class?

A bag that you can have in your karate bag, but when you get to class, put it on the main desk? Depends on how the dojo is set up, when we took tkd, the main desk was right there in the same room. Let the counter person and your instructor know what it's there for. That also saves someone from digging thru your bag (even if it's a seperate pocket), which some people might be hesitant to do. Or like in our class, people had a tendancy to just drop bags all over the place, so someone would have to actually find the right bag in the mess of bags laying on the side of the room, and most of the bags looked similar. If the counter is in another room and you're not comfortable with that, ask the instructor if there is somewhere in the room where you could lay your little bag. I don't know so much that it needs to have medic alert on it, if it's neon orange and has your name and "emergency medication" in big letters in Sharpie, and your instructor knows what it's for.

This might sound very out-there, but you could check at Army surplus stores. Yes most of it is khaki green. ;) But I found a really cute (if anything Army could be considered cute) first-aid purse thingy that I used to hold DS's inhaler and spacer tube. It's worth a look, at least.
