I have an emergency!

I got my hair colored and highlighted today by a very good friend for next to nothing price wise. But it turned out completely wrong! It is WAY too light and nothing like the color I wanted.

My question is she put color for the base, and bleach for highlights. Can I use a color all over to make it darker or will that make my hair fall out or turn green? Or should I go to a salon and have it professionally done?

I am really not comfortable going back to the girl who did it for fear of hurting her feelings but I have only about 10 days to find a solution!

HELP!

Emily-- Oh goodness, i really dont know what to say. I dont do hair nor am I qualified to answer your question.

If you dont end up finding out call a really high-end salon... and pay the money to have it done professionally. Regaurdless of price, at this time you really dont have much of a choice.

Hi! I'm a hairdresser:thumbsup2 lol! Ok so what color is the base color you have now? I'm assuming in your signature picture that is your naturla color. Your best bet would be to go back to your natural color,or you can color your hair color the base color you have now if you like the base color.

If you are going to color it,do not use ASH base. It will turn your hls green. Stick to a golden base or a neutral nothing with ash.Carefully read the box when you go to the store.

You could go to a salon and they could ust do a single color on you and cover up your hls. In our salon we only charge $40 for a single process.I'm from Jersey so I don't know how much it would cost in your area but that seems to be the norm.

I really have no idea how it looks so if you go to the salon and it needs more work than what I said it will cost more.Color corrections start at $70 because you have to do color corrections in steps and sometimes have to use a lot of product.

Are your hls really chuncky, thin or just not even pretty. Let me know what they look like.If they are all even and not too funky you should be ok with just coloring over top of them yourself. Sometimes the hls still show thru the color a little after you cover them.

Give me a little more info, tell me what you used and I can help you better.

You need to go to a salon and have this professionally corrected.
You are getting married soon and don't need this added stress.

Congrats and good luck! :)

Oh, bless you heart!! I had a big fancy thing that I had to go to one time. I went to a new friend that was a hair dresser. I wanted my (at that time) auburn color touched up, and wanted the ends of my hair trimmed (my hair was down to by mid back) and then put up for the event.

OMG, she turned me away from the mirror, dyed my hair bright orange and cut and styled it in an big 80's do! I thought I would die. I paid her, left and never went back!

Go to another stylist and see if they can help you. I wouldn't try to do anything to it myself for fear of making it worse.

OMG I did'nt know that your wedding is 10 days away!!! Yeah don't go messing with your hair go to the salon and get it fixed!!

Like I said earlier though, explain to me how it looks and I might be able to save you money by telling you how to fix it.

You could have your friend who did it fix it for you. Did you tell her you don't like it.If she loves her ob and knows what she is doing she should fix it at no charge.

Okay I made an appt. at my local salon. I am too scared to mess with it myself.

But, will another salon fix it even though the person that did it does not work there?

Salon's see people come in with this problem all the time, don't worry!
The success of the correction depends on you being able to disclose everything about the history of your hair (i.e all the color you have had done through the years). That way, the hair dresser knows what to expect when she does the color correction. If you have the original box of color or the brand/color that your friend used, they will want to know that as some brands are worse than others. Please let us know how you make out :)

They will fix it.Don't worry we have people come in who have never gotten thier hair done from any of the stylists in the salon. We are used to it. They will ask you what you used and what you did. Be honest with every question because if your not you won't get the results you want. You will be fine. Good Luck

Emily, I hope your hair turns out ok  I could not imagine having to deal with that right before your wedding. I have no advice to give, but I wanted to send you some pixiedust :wizard: Good luck and keep us posted!
