We are looking at staying in one of these two hotels this July. We're only planning on spending a few days at DL, and then we'll just use Anaheim as a home base. Any opinions on either of these? Pricewise, there's nearly the same.

We have stayed at Embassy Suites South many times and really like it. The rooms are 2 room suites and very roomy. It actually shares a parking lot with Hampton Inn. I haven't stayed at the Hampton, but I know it had a reno a few years ago and gets great reviews also. I think you'd have more space at Embassy Suites though, and I believe the breakfast is more elaborate at Embassy Suites. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

We stayed at Embassy Suites last summer and loved it! The room was very comfortable and clean and breakfast was awesome.

Hampton Inn is nice too. Good breakfast. They are in the same parking lot so ART would be the same.

It is a couple of miles down Harbor. Not easily walkable (unless you have 2 sleeping babies in a double stroller, then it's easier to walk than take ART).

Hampton inn's bed is sooo comfy! we stayed in a suite with bunk beds and the king bed in there was super comfy and soft. I also like to embassy suites as well they all are the same so if you have stayed in 1 you've stayed at all. Also look into the hilton Anaheim suites a lil further away but the best breakfast of all 3 of them.

Thanks for the info! As much as I love Embassy Suites, and they have a Disney view corner suite available (!), I'm leaning towards the Hampton Inn just b/c I can get a real kitchen. Not that I'm cooking, but it's just more space in the fridge. We'll be there for a week.

We've stayed at Embassy Suites south 3 times and will likely stay there again on our August trip. The ART is great and we just really like having the extra space, breakfast and managers reception in the evening!

It is actually only about a mile away straight down Harbor. We walked it one day to go to DTD when we weren't going to the parks. I wouldn't walk it if you are walking all day in the parks.
