Thanks to your help I reserved the LBV with 2 king suites with atrium view. Has anyone stayed at this specific hotel? I'd like details on views/balconies?/etc. We also had the option of "Lanai wing" which i think has a view of the outdoor pool.

thanks for any input

I stood in this hotel this past January. It was me and my husband. If I am not mistaken I think the "Lanai wing" is the smoking section of the hotel. I was not in this wing, however, I had a pool view. As for the atrium EVERY room faces the atrium. I think the biggest plus of this hotel is their free breakfast. They serve eggs, french toast, pancakes, sausages, bacon, made to order omeletes (sp.), cereal, bagels, fruits, yogurt, donuts, and muffins. However, I did find the room to be just adequate. Although it was very clean it could definitely be redecorated! As for the design of the room, there is a tv in the living room area with a small dining room with 4 chairs. The television had ninetendo and there were several channels to view. After the living room, there is the bathroom across from the bathroom is a SMALL kitchen area. The kitchen area had a small fridge, microwave and a sink with counter space. After the kitchen area is the bedroom. I found the room to be a nice size. However, there was not enough space to store clothes. There was an amoire (sp.) with a couple of hangers and a small dresser with 3 drawers, that was it. There were no closets! The bedroom had a vanity with a sink, a safe, and a television. Overall, I think this is hotel is a great value for a family. Just with what you will save on breakfast, alone. My husband and I would eat in the morning and be so full that we would not be hungry until dinner time. I can't really comment on the pool because it was January and we didn't use it. From what I saw it look nice and clean but small! There was a game room with about a dozen video games. I would recommend this hotel to families or people on business trips. There is also a manager's reception EVERY night where they serve juice, soda, wine, and beer. They also had chips and salsa on the tables. I did the reception one night but most of the hotel was filled with business people who drank for the ENTIRE two hours of the manager's reception. Although I did not see anyone drunk it just was not my idea of fun..... As for the staff they were VERY friendly. Did not have one problem checking-in or out. They also have free parking in the back of the hotel. This hotel was very close to all the theme parks and about a minute drive to all the restaurants on International Drive. Just from what i can remember we were clsoe to Chilis, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Perkins and several non chain restaurants. Overall, I give this hotel a B. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

That was exactly the type of info I needed. A few more questions if you please:

1. Did you see the indoor pool? They are supposed to have one inside, with a fitness center and I'm not sure what else.

2. I'm concerned over the lack of storage...where is a family supposed to put their clothing, especially the kids since they're using the sofa bed..anything in that area for storage?

3. Was there a balcony off your room?

thanks again for the detailed review

Going next week, have free night form HHonors,it looks in the picture like only outdoor pool, it looked nice, since there's six of us I'm thinking this is a deal especially since it is free. Will report when I get back, looks like it has lake right out front with stuff to do, haven't ever stayed around DD so at least different scenery...

1. Indoor Pool
Yes, I did see the indoor pool. It was very small and nothing fancy.

2. Fitness Room
My husband actually used the fitness room. He gave it a B+. He said it had an adequate amount of equipment and it was very well kept.

3. Storage
Yes, I have to agree that it seemed very odd not to have any closets especially in a suite. I did check my room twice to make sure I did not overlook the closet. Altogether there are 5 drawers and a small hanging rod in the amoire to put clothes. I had forgotten about the two small drawers in the amoire. There were books and magazines in them. We just took it out and put our clothes in them. I must say it was barely enough room for two adults.

4. Balcony off your room?
No there was no balcony off our room. The balconies were with the "lani wing". We were given a choice of a balcony but was told that these room are in the smoking section of the hotel. I did not want to take a chance that our room smelled like smoke. Neither my husband or I are smokers. I did see at night from our room several hotel guest smoking on their balcony. Rooms without balconies have big glass windows that look like glass doors. The doors DO NOT open, however, you are able to see the pool area.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Did they have cocktails, IE margaritas. After 3 days at Universal and chasing 4 kids am thinking this would be real nice. We usually just order pizza and the kids get their sodas from the bar...
