First time I ever got an email from my guide.

I just wanted to give you a head up of what was happening around DVC. Our resort Bay Lake Tower is almost sold out, but members can buy into the resort if they would like any points there. We have a couple of sold out resorts that we have brought back like Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, and Saratoga Resort. If you are looking to add on points these resorts have add on possibilities for MEMBERS ONLY. Remember too, if you add on make sure you do it before your use year so you can get back dated points. Disney visa rewards members get 0% interest for 6 months. If you add on 50pts or more Disney will finance you at the lower rate of 10.75% and all you will need to do is just put down 10%. Hope this helps , just wanted to give you the heads up. Below are all the promos.

SSR ws priced at $110/point, BWV at $115/point, BCV at $115/point and BLT at $165/point with a $8/point vacation point credit.

Most of the email was about what the monthly payments would be if you bought different amount of points and financed.

Strange that AKV wasn't mentioned.

They want to save AKV for new buyers, that's why they are telling you that only existing owners can buy at the sold out resorts, (which isn't true by the way).

The fact that they are sending out marketing emails tells me that sales are down and they are looking for buyers.

That is the most poorly worded email I have ever seen from what is suppose to be a professional organization.

Was this a personal email from him to you, or is this a mass email? Personal I would understand, but it's hard for me to believe that this would have gotten past a level 1 vetting for a mass mailing of any kind.

Interesting will have to ask DW if we got one such email. I know we have been having issue with our guide so we are in the process of changing guides back to the one that originaly talked to us.

We never hear from our guide, and don't care to. What good is a guide if you aren't interested in buying more points. I sure wouldn't go to the trouble of changing a guide unless I was in the market for buying lots of points direct from Disney. I'm thinking if I do ever buy more points, it's only going to be resale from here on out.

I wonder what kind of response rates guides get for add on contracts from emails like this? I haven't heard from our guide since buying back in 2009. It would be nice to hear from her with offers like this just to see what's going on. Thanks for sharing :)

Sounds like a selling tactic. Last spring my mom transferred her OKW contract into my name - my family uses it now so it made sense. I received a call a few days ago about getting me setup with a guide and received a BLT postcard...

We most likely will add more from Disney, I have yet to see a resale contract that has what I want. I will look and when it comes time to buy choose the route I want. A good guide will give you the heads up when points are released at different resorts. Most of the resales now are far bigger than what we want. Our next buy may only be 50 or so points.
