Just was wondering if there were any other NEOhioans that caught this concert this past Tuesday night in Cleveland.
I had been waiting for this concert like crazy ever since I bought the tickets back in January! Although I must admit I was in shock for a few weeks as well due to the price I paid for the 2 tickets...
200.00 each
for the center floor seats.
And after seeing this concert my gf and I think it was worth it.
The concert was about 3 1/2 hours long with no intermission!!!!
The only bad part was with no intermission was figuring out which song I was going to miss part for a restroom break
The show was awesome! Many times during the concert it seemed like everyone on the floor was up dancing.
They both shared 3 songs in the beginning set(Elton John's Your Song, Billy Joel's Just the way you are, and Elton John's Dont Let the Sun Go Down On Me) Then Billy Joel left the stage and Elton John brought his band on to play an 11 song set. Then Elton John and his band left the stage and a minute later Billy Joel and his band started his set of 9 songs. For the final set Elton John and his band joined Billy Joel and his band. The combined bands were awesome and both Elton and Billy showed what great skills they have for the piano.
For the encore it was just Billy Joel at his piano and Elton John at his piano...no band. They traded off verses of Billy Joel's Piano Man. A few times during the song they stopped singing and let the audience sing the song while they accompanied on piano. Then near the end they stopped singing and playing altogether and let the whole arena just sing the song. It was great!!!!!
I had always wanted to hear Billy Joel sing this song and I must admit a tear came to my eye listening to these great musicians sing it.
Of course even though I already spent the 400.00 for tickets, I still went and bought a shirt for her and for me plus prgrams plus the interactive concert program cd-rom.
What a great night! I was so wired from the concert that I couldnt get to sleep until 3am.
For those who might be seeing this concert you are in for an awesome event!

Billy Joel and Elton John are two of my absolute favorites.
