I decided to be organized with my pressed pennies this year. (Okay, so I was bored and couldn't think of anything else to organize while counting down for our trip.)

I found a list online that shows all current coins and the location of the machines (www.presscoins.com), and went through my books to check off the ones I already have. Having filled a book on each of my past two trips, I thought I had a fair size collection. However, looking through my annotated listing now that I'm done cataloging what I already have, I've barely scratched the surface.

On this trip, I think I'm going to make a concentrated effort to get to all the coins with "Happiest Celebration on Earth," since I know they won't be there again after this trip.

Good thinking!!! I haven't made a pressed penny or quarter in years.

I remember one trip in 1996 running around to all the different hotels for the different characters quarter for the 25th anniversary. I'll have to take a look at that site. Bet there are a ton of pennies and quarter machines out there.

I have a question maybe you or someone can answer.

How do you get the best print on the coin. Should the coin be placed in a certain way or be shiny, dull or ???

Thanks!

I try to collect ECs where ever I go but the sheer number of machines at WDW can be a little daunting. I did get the 51 pennies for the 50th aniversary at DL. Right now my count stands around 270 and only about 10 of these are from WDW. I have pennies from MA, NH, VT, CT, RI, NY, PA, MD, FL, AZ, WA, CA and even a few pence from England and a pressed token from Canada. My goal is to get penies from all 50 states. I only use pre-1982 copper pennies to press. Another cool site devoted to ECs is pennycollector.com. Have fun on your "Squishin' Mission".
