Elevators at Contemporary

We were pleasantly surprised last Friday when we stepped on the elevators at the Contemporary. They were remodeled and look great!

Do the characters announce the floors?? Or is that gone forever??

My kids used to get such a kick out of that! (well we all did, actually)

I didn't stay at the Contemporary, but I did drop by there when I stayed at WL in mid-June. The two elevators I went in were silent (but man, were they fast! ). That sounds so neat they characters used to announce the floors... wish I could've heard it.

Stayed there last week. The new color scheme for rtheelevator is very nice. No voices on floors, but yes they are very fast.

I hope they did not do away with the character voices. That is a treasured memory for my daughter (and us!)

I sure don't remember the character voices last Friday. But I wasn't really paying attention to that. I was looking at the decor. Looks like the same color scheme as the pics I saw of the "new" rooms on Deb's website.

We LOVED hearing the different characters tell you which floor you were on. I can't imagine why they'd get rid of it.

After my stay last August I wrote a letter with compliments and a couple of minor complaints and one of them was no character voices. I got a call and the CM seemed to think it was temporary but I guess she was wrong.

What a bummer.

I also wrote a letter about the missing voices and received a call - the CM said that they removed the voices because the "convention guests" at the CR thought they were not businesslike!! I told her that maybe they should rethink who their target audience is and wrote another letter but it appears the voices are gone forever.

we were there on the 7/20-22 and the voices were gone -- my children missed them.
