I had surgery in December on my ankle, and still am not able to walk on it..I go to the Dr.'s tomorrow and am hoping that I can start some partial wt. bearing before our trip in just a few weeks :goodvibes

I have rented an ECV from an outside company. However my foot still requires elevation during the day..I am unable to keep it dependent for longer than an hour without it starting to throb and swell..

Has anyone had to go to Disney and needed to elevate their foot during the day? Any tips on where to do this? :confused3 Can you sit somewhere with it elevated while your family waits in line for a ride then join them when they get to the front?

Thanks for your help!

I think I would take a large firm backpack that I could place on the deck of the scooter and put my foot up on it. I also might try and find a way to create a sling to put the foot in to elevate it on the scooter.

I can't think of any other way (other than manual wheelchair) to be able to elevate it without some of self rigging.

Most attractions don't have anywhere that you could sit with your leg elevated (unless you rig up something for the ECV).
Since most lines are accessible, there really is not a way to wait somewhere else and join your family when they get to the front - there is not a 'path' to get from the outside to the front to meet up.

I am recovering from ankle surgery as well and having rented an ECV I don't see how you can elevate it above your heart. You could take some breaks and half lay on the floor and elevate on the bench (with a sweater under your head).
GL - sorry about your surgery!
I just started weight bearing 2 days ago and the swelling is better than anticipated - remember your anti inflammatories!

I saw someone riding on the boat once with us who did figure out a way to do it.
Let's just say that she was not able to do what she did while driving and my DD was fascinated that anyone could get their leg that high up.

I was having a lot of knee pain during my trip last year (just barely walking with a cane when we went) and I spent an hour sitting on the floor in first aid. I imagine that if you're willing to sit on the ground in odd places you can find a way to do it.
