I started this Journal a year ago and now I'm restarting it. I think it can be a great tool for me!

A little about me. I'm 24 and trying to finish school. Currently I weigh 205 (kept 15 lbs off in the last yr) and I'm 5'1". I've always been very active, but since high school I've relaxed a lot with the physical activity. I'm trying to get back into a routine with exercise, work and school. This leads to a fairly busy schedule and exercise is usually the first activity to fall by the wayside. I'd like to make all three activities my first priority. I also broke off my engagement about a year a go and I'm very happy with the decision. I think that is a big help in getting things together.

My goal is to complete school and lose 60 lbs by December. I think both are very doable. 60 lbs is not my goal, but a weight I would be happy with and a weight I think is realistic for Dec. I guess both goals represent more than they appear to to me. Both are things I've struggled with and want to accomplish, and Dec. seems so close that it excites me!

I have an idea of my work out plan but I'm going to revise it tomorrow before I post it. I have a friend who is very commited to fitness and keeping me on track with my goals both with fitness and school. Eating is something that will give me a problem. I am currently taking Strattera and it makes me stomach upset enough so I don't want to eat, but fine enough that I can go about my daily life! It makes eating a challenge and I'm hoping to work on this!

I hope to post everyday and look forward to comments from people!

Elena, welcome to the WISH Journal board! We're a very supportive and friendly bunch! We love to answer questions and help you through the inevitable rough spots and we also love to help you celebrate success!

Your workout routine would EXHAUST me, (I'm happy to walk 1 mile or get my 20 minute Winsor Pilates in every day! :p ) but it will really help you with your goals! I love the idea of deep water aerobics - there's no place around me that offers it but I LOVE the water and this would probably be an ideal workout for me!

Are you drinking lots of water? That will help too! Also, please make sure you're eating enough. Your body does need a certain amount of food or your metabolism will slow down and make it really tough to lose weight.

You're going to Greece in late April - WOW!! Sounds like the trip of a lifetime! Are you going with a group or solo?

Glad you joined us Elena! :sunny:

Deep water is great! Tough but fun! I am always sore afterward!

I'm drinking tons of water. I always carry my Nalgene bottle with me filled with ice water. I switched to drinking just water about a year ago. I love water! I crave water. Weird huh?

I'm going to Greece with my sister's high school. I went 5 years ago in high school. This time around my mom and dad (both teachers) wanted to go and since my mom gets to go for free (chaperone) they offered to use the money they had budgeted for her for me to go with them. Since I am under 25 they are paying the student rate but I get to room with another teacher who is 23 as well. I'm really excited!
My other trip is to Cedar Point in Ohio. I did the WDW College Program in 2001 and I'm meeting some friends from there that I haven't seen since Jan 2002. It should be interesting!

I've also recently decided to put my wedding on hold as well. It's a new do something good for me kick I'm on! And this will be my first vacation without him in 3 years! I'm excited!!

Thanks all for your support.

Elena, I hope you had a great weekend!! Here's some extra :sunny: for your Monday!

Elena: Welcome to WISH. We're glad to have you. Your upcoming trips sound like a lot of fun. I haven't been to Cedar Point since I was in college (my roommates parents lived near there), but it was a fun park. And Greece! I really haven't wanted to go to Europe, but Greece (and Ireland) would be the only places I'd want to go.

Doreen is great about checking on the water intake for people, but it sounds like you've got that covered.

I'm going to be a mom and nag about your food intake. Given the amount that you exercise, it doesn't seem like you're eating enough food. I also don't see any natural carbs in your diet. If there's a nutritionist on staff at work, you might check with them and see what options there are that are healthy, but more balanced.

Obviously you're a grown woman and can make your own choices, but it just doesn't seem like enough to me.

BTW, I love your name. We have a neice with that name, and my daughter just idolized her when she was younger. She's (the neice, not my daughter) about 21 now, and in college.

I edited my intro and I'm going to try this journal again!!
