Hi all,

I'm flying out in early September and was wondering whether anybody knows if the battery packs / power banks that you can use for iPhones are allowed on flights?

Are they prohibited because you can't 'power them up'?

Thanks in advance!

you can have take a powerbank in your carry on

batteries (including power packs) are prohibited in checked luggage

Battery packs are fine DH & I both carried them last month without issue :thumbsup2

I never knew that! Does that apply to all items with batteries?

depends on the airline and on the batteries

the "no battery in checked luggage" is more a rule a thumb you need to check with your airline

for example BA allows small batteries in equipment in the hold, but not spares.

VA follows the same guidelines

Other Airlines like AA will strongly advise to remove batteries from checked luggage items and take them in the carry-on

spares are banned from checked luggage.

Thanks, that's really helpful.

Also never knew that! (I'm sure I carried all my spare AAs in my suitcase last summer... whoops!)

I'll make sure to keep them in my hand luggage. Thank you! :D
