Has anyone seen the show at 6 or 6:45? Is it worth trying to make it to DCA to see?

Just trying to figure out what and how much of ElecTRONica I should try and fit in next weekend on our trip. We are doing fireworks and F! on Sat night, so I figured trying to see ElecTRONica on Sun.

Ok so just to let you know although I missed (twice) the pre-show, I heard that it was pretty good, not the generic cheesy dancing that Glow Fest had. This is different. So if it was me I would stop by see the pre-show to experience at least just once, then you can always go back to elecTRONica to experience the night life of it, and Flynn’s arcade and the 3D preview. In fact this Friday I plan on seeing the pre-show …just because I know I need to experience it.

Ok, DH wants me to ask if anyone can post a list of all the games that are in the arcade. He's a video game nut (shhhh..... don't tell him I said that ) and is curious about which ones they have. In his mind, the arcade is one of the most exciting things to happen at DLR recently, lol. Thanks!

Did you see the picture Daiuke posted? It shows a lot of the games, I bet your DH can identify a lot.

Yes, I showed him the picture and he could make out a few of the games but that just made him want to know what else is there, lol.

We're planning on a trip for my b-day in november right before our passes expire (one last hurrah before we have to give up DLR for awhile) so I'm sure he'll be able to go see it for himself then.

I could only stand a few seconds in there when I went so I don't really know the answer to your question sorry!

But I felt that this would be worth mentioning -- my dad and a friend of ours are both crazy video game people (my dad especially likes the classics, like those that were in the arcade) and were both extremely disappointed. Not in the selection of games but in the games themselves. They both said the games just seemed "off." I'm not a game person so I don't know if I have this right but they seemed to think the games had been re-programmed or something and that as a result the response times from the controls to the game was agonizingly slow. They came out with tons of tokens left over and neither were interested in going back in. Hopefully it was just them and their craziness though

Thanks for the warning! I told DH what you said and he wondered if maybe they were using emulators (which run on regular computers) instead of the original electronic boards for the games. That was his guess anyway.

That could very well be true lavendar. but for purposes unknown lets just assume its the original game...and i dont know i am going to assume that out of the 200 and some people that played friday night, that i don't know it seemed pretty popular to those 200 an some people.

Oh, I hope they have the old 80's Star Wars video game in the arcade! The only arcade game I was ever good at. But, Pole Position will be a total flashback, at least!

i remember pole position as a kid, i saw it as i walked n the door to the left next to Zaxxon! and i was in shock that i saw it...

I loved the 80's Star Wars game! Having worked at a few places with arcades I became quite good at a few of them.

Joust, Tron, Centipede and my all time favorite - Galaga. We have a place just down the road with many of the classic coin-ops running on nickles I go to occasionally.

If all of the games were emulated then I can see why they would be a bit - off. There were many updates over the years to fix bugs in the software/hardware issues that are not emulated well on a modern PC.

I loved it! but I'm also a TRON fan. =P If you don't like dancing to techno/house and stuff like that then don't expect to dance.
the lazer man show was cool. his times are 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30.
the recreation of Flynn's Arcade was really cool. really crowded though.
and homg the exclusive 9 min TRON: Legacy trailer made me even more excited to see the movie X3
