electronic carb calculator

I thought this would be a good place to ask, do any of you know where I can order a hand held electronic carb calculator? DH is a diabetic and needs to keep a better watch on his carbs consumption, he mentioned that he would like to have a small hand held calculator to help him determine the carbs in the food he eats. I have checked online at several websites and cannot find one. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I've never found one but I can suggest a great pocket book. Calorie King. I love it. I call it my carb bible.

If you have a smartphone, you can access the Calorie King book online. That's what I do if I forget to bring the actual book.

I use the Calorie King book as well. I keep a copy in my car at all times at home and kind of make notes on our Disney itinerary about what I am guessing for carb counts at the restaurants on our schedule.

For counter service I rely on guesswork since I don't carry the book around. The iPhone app is a great idea and another reason I might consider upgrading my cell service!

I'll 3rd (or 4th) the Calorie King book, it's compact but has a TON of info in it. The best possible solution (thought the most expensive) is a smart phone. Both my wife and I recently got the Motorola Droid and love it for many reasons, but most importanly for how it helps us with Landon's T1D. There are several apps that you can download that are general nutrition applications that give calories, carb counts etc. As others have mentioned, you can also access websites like calorieking.com or dailyplate.com. I'm sure the iPhone has a number of options as well.

Bottom line, a Calorie King book is all you need, if you want one less thing to carry I'd recommend a smart phone as you likely have to carry a cell phone anyway.
