I've seen these small electric scooters with the seat around town and I was wondering if they would be allowed in and around the campground?

Looks like a nice way of getting around the camp and an alternative to the golf carts.

Can you rent them anywhere near WDW?

I know that WDW recently banned the use of the Segway scooters.

I am talking about what my kids call a "Go-Ped" not an electric wheelchair or "jazzy".

I am asking about an electric "go-ped"

Motorized 2 wheel transportation, i.e. mopeds, scooters and the like are prohibited.

In the Fort Wilderness Gazette (the paper they give you at check in) it states: "Motorbikes or Cycles: No two-wheeled motorized vehicles are allowed in Fort Wilderness."

Check out my FW web page below, I cover most of the rules.

Happy camping!

The last gazette I got (November 2003) stated that electric scooters were allowed on the bicycle paths. There were a lot of them around. That being said, I would like to see them regulated like the golf carts are, since a lot of pretty young kids were riding them pretty recklessly. I think I'll stick to my bike.::MickeyMo

The electric ones are allowed now, it's the gas powered ones they prohibit.

They were all over the place this weekend. I just got back.

We were there 13-19th and they were EVERYWHERE and ALL ages were on them. The gazette we had stated they were allowed. My son was very mad at me, I thought they were prohibited so he didn't bring his.

This was our first stay at FW and we absolutely loved it !! The kids did not want to leave for the parks, they had a better time staying there all day.

Gas and electric scooters were very popular there 2 weeks ago. A lot of kids on them and I didn't see one instance of kids being out of control and dangerous.
