Hi there. I'm hoping someone can help me out. It's been a few years since we've been to Disneyworld so I can't remember exactly how the parking lot trams are set up. Last time we were there my husband did not need a mobility scooter, but when we go back next summer he is going to need to use one for getting around the parks. He will be fine waiting in lines, etc but not all the walking. How do you get on the parking lot trams with an electric scooter? The ones I'm looking at all show that they break down (into 5 pieces) and someone even said you could just ride it on. I didn't think you could ride onto the parking lot trams. Then someone said you could just ride to the entrance of the park. This will work with all but the Magic Kingdom. Even the handicap parking lot to the TNT center is a bit of a walk, isn't it? I sent an email for Buena Vista scooters but it's been four days and I haven't heard back from them. So, am hoping someone can help me out with my question. Thanks.

ECVs cannot go on the parking lot trams. Some will break-down to put into a car trunk, but not the tram. You'll have to options if driving:

1. drop-off DH and the ECV then park and you can ride the tram to join him
2. tell each CM on your way through the parking lot that you have an ECV and need to park close, they'll direct you to appropriate spots - do NOT park in HA reserved unless you have a hang-tag, but you can park near

Or you can use WDW transportation if staying at an onsite resort.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks, LadyJane.

That's what I thought. I didn't think we could get the scooter on the tram. Unless we rented/bought the one called Luggie. It folds down like a baby stroller so I know I could get that one onboard. We rented one of those for my mom on a cruise last year. It was great, but the rental fee is a lot more than other scooters from Buena Vista.

We do have a handicap placard so we can park in the handicap parking spots!

Thanks again.

Since you can park in the handicap spots, it is a short walk/ride to the monorail or ferry (we find the ferry much easier to use with an ECV than the monorail).

In the event you did not have a placard (which we did not once as we left it at home in another car), you can tell the attendants you have an ECV and they will direct you to excess medical parking which is right behind the handicap parking.
