El Pirata y el Perico -Seasonal? What season?

Restaurant in Adventureland next to POTC....

WHICH season EXACTLY?

I Have been for the last 4 years trying to have a meal at this restaurant....SIMPLY because we are POTC fans, and always note in my artinerary to check to see if this restaurant is open...

We have in the past gone in November around Thanksgiving and have YET to see this restaurant EVER be open...What does SEASONAL MEAN?

I mean....Is this restaurant ever open or maybe they will be open when I go for my next trip in August.....12-25....

Let me know if you think this restaurant is ever open or i have just been missing the SEASON. I wish disney would post what they mean by SEASONAL...I mean Wonders of life is listed as SEASONAL...what does that mean...Its a head scratching moment for me....

I think it was last summer I was there one day and it was open. The hours were weird though like noon - 3pm. I think they just open it on days when the park is really packed.

Yes, I think it is more about attendance than season. I've only seen it open on busy days.

Like a pp said, I think seasonal means on high attendance days.

We have eaten here in May and June. It was not open when we were there in early December....but I think I read that it was open closer to Christmas. I also read that it was open over Spring Break.

I am concerned that it will not be open when we are there this time (8/25-9/7) because looking at Touringplans our days are mostly 5's.

Good luck. It is yummy when it is open, but, it can be very crowded.

It seems to be open late April to usually August with intemittent openings at peak times (holidays and Spring Breaks). We LOVE this CS and were sad when they started opening it seasonally. We usually go in the fall when it is not open and were thrilled when we went in late April/early May to find it open!

We ate lunch there in early March last year. I don't even think I was hungry, but I wanted to try it since I'd never seen it open either. I think it was open on our trip this May but for lunch only. Definitely check it out during lunch hours.

We have always wanted to try it and we love mexican food! I know there is a slim to none chance that it will be open in November, but I can hope!!!

The last three years we have been during the August Free Dining. In 2006 it was open and we were there in the beginning of the month. 2007 and 2008 it was later in the month and it was closed.

We were there in March and it was open, but had only a couple of items, Hamburger, Chicken Burger. I am sure it was because Pecos Bill's wasn't open. Then we were there May 17 and it was open serving Tacos, Taco salad, Quesadillas for the kids etc.

I was so excited because last time it was open when we were there. I had the Taco salad and really enjoyed it this time I had the taco and I enjoyed them as well. They have the fixings in a bar so you can add what you wanted. I was very happy.

We've only seen it open twice, the last time being last year on July 3rd so it was definitely a busy day. Even though it's normal tacos they are very good so I wish it was open more.

We were there May 24 - June 1, and it was open every time we were in MK. (The only exception being late one night during EMH.) It was very crowded, too.

it's open now. I've seen it open more this year than previously. Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace is the one place I hardly ever see open. And the last time I did, it was during free dining a couple years ago as a really expensive buffet TS. Made specificaly for the free dining.

I always eat at El Pirata y el Perico in August. Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace....never seen!

It should be open when you arrive Aug. 12. Lunch time is your best bet. But it's not really pirate themed, and the food is very ordinary, although it's nice to have a Tex-Mex CS option in MK.

"Seasonal" to Disney means "we will open it when we think we might need it." There's no absolute dates or schedule but look during high peak attendance times - Easter, spring break, between Christmas and New Years, 4th of July, Thanksgiving weekend, possibly in high summer, possibly during free dining (but they may decide not to open it at any of these times and during free dining they are more likely to use that space to present a table service family style meal to give free diners a chance to use their TS credits.)

When I did my college program, I worked at Pecos Bills, and we also worked Pirata when it was open. I was there from Mid-August thru the beginning of Jan, and I know we had Pirata open around christmas and thanksgiving, but that's all I remember. Again, this was a while ago, so who knows that the deal is now. I will say, though, that the vegetarian tacos are amazing.
