We're going to WDW in July and I am trying to decide where to eat. We are eating at rather pricey places on most of the nights but would try to have a cheaper/faster dinner when we are in the MK. I wasn't sure if this is open for dinner or if it's just for lunch or snack.

I moved your question here to Restaurants Board, the experts here will give you some solid information to work with here. :goodvibes :wizard: :flower:

Not sure if they're open for dinner, but I recommend it. Adventureland is my favorite anyway, but the ambiance is so much fun. The food is a good value and quite tasty. Hopefully someone can answer your question. :Pinkbounc

We were just there around April 15th and they were only open Fri and Sat from 11-4. We have never seen them open for dinner but maybe in the summer they are and we missed it. Love the tacos and taco salad! Hoping they are open for our next trip in May!

We enjoy that restaurant too--call it "the taco place" since we can never remember the exact name. Finding them open is iffy, however. Last Jan. they were supposed to open on Sat. according to the Daily Guide, but alas, they were closed.

Your next best bet for counter service (and most people love it more, even though it's not tacos) is Pecos Bills.

We used to eat at the "taco place" (LOL, we call it that too!) until last trip they were closed. Instead, we waited and ate at Cosmic Ray's....we loved it!! They have really good rotisserie chicken and for the burger folks, a great fixin's bar. We enjoyed it very much, and it was a good value for counter service!!

Hey you...
Maybe we should just go here for lunch. We can hit somewhere else cheap for dinner. Or maybe this can be a cheap lunch on a day we go Ohana or Coral Reef. How does that sound?

Thanks for the responses and the suggestions. They're really helpful. Hope fully we can still eat at the Taco Place anyways. Hehe.

One of my only true disapointments with WDW is that this place is so rarely open. The taco salad is delicious - some weeks it's only open a couple of afternoons, and some weeks it's not open at all so I rarely get it.

You'd think they'd just close it - how does a restaurant stock fresh veggies and such for so few meals so infrequently?

If it's open, be sure to stop by - makes me hungry just thinking about it!

I LOVE the empanadas (sp?)!!! I craved it for a couple of weeks after I left WDW.

This is a definite place for us to stop when in MK. It is good for both lunch and dinner.

They have made this one of those Seasonal restaurants. Which stinks cause we normally go during the off-season. We love to eat there, and the taco salads are the best. We are going again in May for the 50th celebration so we hope they are open.

We love El Pirata! We ate there April 15th, the day before we flew home. It was only open Friday & Saturday from 11-4 when we were there. Great tacos & taco salad! Check the times guide you can get at the entrance of the park, it tells you what time the food places close, etc. Those guides are updated weekly & you can get the guides for the other parks at Guest Services at the park you are in. Gosh, I hope no English teachers read that last sentence! It's good to know what places close early (like Tusker House at AK, another favorite, closed at 3:00!) so you don't miss out.

I have not seen that open for AGES. :sad2:
I don't understand the reasoning behind it either. It always seems popular. And I have seen it closed on even busy days. :confused3

Thanks, that's some really good advice. I started looking into other places to grab a quick bite to eat at MK. No matter what, there are plenty of places! :teeth:

Great advice, but be forewarned that when we were there it said on the Daily Times Guide it would be open the Sat. we were in the park, but it actually wasn't. We planned our touring and meal around the hours listed and were disappointed. This was in Jan. and things were pretty slow in the park, which may have had something to do with the schedule change. Or who knows, maybe the people who print the Daily Guide were having a taco craving and wishing it to be open too--"if we print it, they will have open!"
