Either 20 points left or 9 short

if we go when we are thinking and we go 12 nights we'll have 20 points left over to bank but if we want to stay one more night we'll be short 9 points.

can we pay disney the 20 points and pay cash for the 9 missing or do we have to find someone to borrow those 9 points from?

or stay 12 days and bank 20 points

advise?

Can't you borrow the 9 points from your next use year? There is no way to book one night with partial points, partial cash.

no - we can't borrow them we're already borrowing 210 from 09 and using 10 left from 08

It depends when you want to go. We just did a cash ressie in a studio at VWL last weekend and it was $236.25 / n plus taxes = about $266 / n. January is a "value" season tho so it depends on your date. The DVC cash discount is 25% off the rack rate if it's available so if you go to the Disney.com website & plug in the exact date you're talking about then you can figure it by taking 25% off whatever the rate is. But you still have to call MS to find out if they have a room available for the date you want at the cash rate. The availability may or may not be there. And sometimes you have to call several times because the room inventory changes. I had to call about 3 times to get a cash ressie at AKV for this coming July.
