Did you guys hear about this? So sad. Apparently he was originally in intensive care. I'm not sure how he's doing now (I think this happened on the 24th?). I'll keep looking.

It very sad this happend, but I dunno if I would call it a hate crime, maybe I really delusional in my thinking that 8 years old would be capable of hate crimes, I agree they were bullies but I pray this wasn't a hate crime.

Who said it was an 8yo? The boys could have been 5th graders and 10 or 11. Also, it's pretty revealing driving a school bus and children pick up what they hear at home. Children hate who their parents hate. They do it without shame because they trust their parents.

I assumed it was someone in his class since his teacher was outside the restroom waiting for the class come out.

I think it a huge leap to accuse the parents until we know more about the kids.
I know many many bullies who are bullies and there parents aren't bullies

I can't even say what I want to about those boys who did this, its definitely not DIS friendly. I hope they catch the scumbags that did this and charge them with something I don't care how old they are they need to be taught a huge lesson.

This is extremely sad. Elementary school? Its time that school has a bathroom monitor. I don't doubt for a second that they have an inkling of who did this. I hope those boys are prosecuted to the fullest extent. Just sickening.

Absolutely horrible! I hope they catch the cretins who did this and punish them severely! With the information given, though, I don't judge this a hate crime - there's nothing to suggest that the jerks who did this were motivated by anything more than plain meanness. Once they identify the perpetrators and hear their "reasons" (coughexcusescough), it may come out that it was based on bias, but, IMO, it's too early to make that call.

Sometimes kids can take up to ten minutes to get to the bathroom, do their business, wash their hands, and get back to class. This all could have easily happened in ten minutes.

But if the entire class was on a bathroom break and she was waiting in the hallway for them, they should have all gone together and come back together.
