We just got back from 10 days at the world. We are a family of four (hence the eight thumbs up) :thumbsup2 We are frequent visitors but we tried two things we haven't tried before.

We did the Picnic in the Park at Animal Kingdom. VERY convenient! And VERY delicious!!! We placed our order as soon as we entered the park and picked it up at our desired time of 12:00 PM. Everything is in the bag! We just found a table and doled everything out. Despite being a family of four, we actually got a meal for a family of three. Our kiddos are 2 and 5, so this was plenty for all of us. We got the chicken (delicious and plenty for all of us), mac-n-cheese (kids loved this of course), and mashed potatoes w/ gravy (Mmmmm). For dessert we chose the brownies (they were HUGE). The ONLY complaint I have is that I wish the bottled waters were full sized instead of the mini ones. Other than that, it was great. We'll definitely be doing this again in the future.

This was also our first time doing the Hoop Dee Doo. It was pricey, but definitely worth it. The food was the best we've had at Disney! And our two kids are extremely picky and they even brought us out some mac-n-cheese and PB&J sandwiches for them. They were happy! The show was HILARIOUS!!!! Definitely recommend this!

Was Picnic in the Park covered by the meal plan, and where did you order it?

Yes, Picnic in the Park can be used with the meal plan. It takes adult credits to use it though. So if you have two adults and two kids, you cannot use the kids credits to get the Picnic in the Park. Not sure how it works because we never do the meal plan.....but I guess you'd have to use extra adult credits to get a larger meal? Or else get the kids something different?

As far as ordering it, I'm not exactly sure what to call it. Ask someone upon entering the park because it is not too far from the front. It was a little desk area by a small building.

Thanks for the review:thumbsup2

With Picnic in the park, what type of pieces of chicken was it? I mean, how many breasts/legs/wings/etc?

We're thinking of doing this as well, with our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids). I'm wondering if we should get a picnic for 4, our kids are pretty light eaters. :)

Everything I have seen about the dining plan is that if there isn't a "kids menu" at the location, they can order from the adult menu, but it still only costs the childs credit.
