Let me introduce you to the crazy crew who went to Disney May 9th through the 16th.
me-34 yo disney addict, planner, purchaser and all around go to guy
mom-69 yo birthday girl, turned 69 on the last day of the trip
clark-brother who thinks he knows as much about disney as me. mwahahaha yeah right
Cathy-clarks DW and child herder extrordinair
Their kids-caitlin(9yo) Lauren (7yo) and twins Erin and Kevin(4yo each).
We flew rt from DTW on NWA. Tickets were 143.00 using a 32 percent travel agents discount. I have to give sincere thanks to everyone who helped us at nwa. From getting a ton of bags loaded safely and quickly, to getting us a cart so that we could make our flight, even though we didnt ask. To the pilots and air crews, you guys ROCKED!! Weds nights return flight was scary, and you got us down without incident(well kevin did puke but hey hehehe).
We had ressies at PO-R the entire stay. I had requested a first floor room either near a bus stop or the food court, as mom has difficulty walking. I got neither
-mini rant-
CM Jim at the PO-R check in, was by far the worst experiance i have ever had. There was some difficulty with getting the ressies split so that my brother could charge on his room, Jim didn't want to do it, and after spending a good 15 minutes trying to avoid work, we gave in and let him be lazy. He got back at us by putting us in parrier(sp) place, which is about as far from everything as could possibly be.
-end rant-
After unloading the luggage and getting settled in, we realized it was not going to work out here. Clark called the front desk and a really nice cm got us in a closer building(though she told us it was first floor, it turned out to be 3rd, no biggie as it had an elevator).
After unloading luggage again, we had about 4 hours before our ps at Chef Mickeys, so we all went to Ole man island to swim and poke around.
I really like the set up there! We even had resident ducks living on the little island in the middle of the pool
The kids seemed very satisfied with ole man isle, but constantly reminded us that they wanted to try dubloon lagoon(more on that later).
Time came for Chef Mickeys!! We drove the 8 passanger dodge van(dollar rental car 435 total for 8 days using a 20 percent agency discount) to the contemp(no hassles getting in, used free valet!).
Dear Erin passed out before we got there, and slept through the first half of the dinner!
We all enjoyed the dinner. The characters all made great effort to see every child, and spend quality time with each! The food was good, not spectacular, but the parmesian potatos were as good as everyone said!
After dinner we debated on what to do, but as we had been up since 4am, everyone was pooped and decided to crash early.
I can look back and be thankful to god that we got down safely, had a warm place to sleep(ok it was cold, i cranked the ac
, and that we were in our favorite place
more to come!
