Hey everyone!

My baby parakeets are doing EGGStremely well! (OK - last Egg pun, I promise!)

I know we originally posted that we had 5 eggs but 4 babies. We thought the first egg that was laid in the food cup and moved into the nesting box by Matt didn't "take"

Imagine our surprise when I shined a flashlight into the nesting box last week and saw not 4 but FIVE scrawny pink ET looking things with big beaks!

My how they have grown now! Momma bird doesn't have to sit on them 24/7 anymore (I know her butt must be SORE) Ladies, I know childbirth is hell but could you imagine having to SIT on your baby for months on end and regurgitate into their mouths!?! Poor Momma has lost a lot of weight and is looking scrawny - need to fatten her up!

Anyhow - here is the pic of the babies. Momma will allow me to lift the lid of the box (not Matt.. just me - it's a girl thing I think!) Three of the babies have taken after daddy it looks like. He's 90% white with a bit of black and blue and the other two must be like momma - she's solid blue. I can't wait for their gray baby feathers to be replaced with their colors!

Anyway... enough talking - I present to you, the Davis Grandchildren!!!

Yep! Obi-wan Pinobi is my hubby of 4 years! I think we were the DIS's first husband/wife moderating team

We used to moderate under the name of MZDavis but we confused the heck out of people because they didn't know who they were "talking" to (Had to admit it could be fun!)

Anyhow - A member of the collectors board named Matt with his new name and my name was a nickname my family had given me all through my life and webmasteralex thought it was "perfect" for me so....

that's our story in a nutshell and I'm stickin' to it!

arent they something else.......at first ET comes to mind......the pin feathers are cute.....next come the soft ones.......I can hardly wait to see the blue ones.....I am looking for a baby hand held hand fed hand raised cocketiel........I need to nurture something and grand pumba is still 20 weeks away......so I need a baby birdie or a puppy or a critter of some type......mother bird seems to be a good mama......our mama bird kept on regurgataing on the babies and picked them trying to clean them off.........

Awwwwwww! Thanks for sharing - please keep us updated with photos. I showed them to the kids and they couldn't figure out what they were..ha! (and us with 10 birds and all.. )

Pumba - We have 3 cockatiels! Two of them were hand-fed and hand-raised. Xatu (zah-too) and Ziggo are sitting on my shoulder as I type this. They are both sweeties and they "fight" for my attention and fingers to give them scratchies.
