EEC participants... bug bites?

I've got 8-9 mosquito like bug bites on my legs. Hoping it's from crawling under the nets during EEC rather than bed bugs. Anyone else from EEC have this issue? Thing is I've never gotten bug bites during any previous EECs and I think they've had the nets every year. Is it a time of year thing? Are there a lot more bugs out in May?

I did eec but didnt get any bites. I would be willing to bet they are mosquito bites and not bed bugs. It is that time of the year. And, you coild have gotten them anywhere, not just at Animal Kingdom. We went to breakfast at the Grand Floridian and i ended up killing a mosquito while waiting for our reservation - IN THE LOBBY! lol! It is just that time of year.

Besides, I think if it were bed bugs, the bites wouldn't just be on your legs.

Teresa, I had the same thought that if it were bed bugs it wouldnt be just my legs, but I was feeling a bit paranoid last night. Thanks for helping ease my mind.

Em, I hope the itching isn't driving you too crazy. It woke me up twice last night. Next year I'll have to add bug spray to my packing list

I got one big one on my knee and DS has a few.
We didn't crawl though, we climbed the net.

DS and I both have bites as well. We climbed the net also. I'm not even sure if they were from Saturday night or some other time over the weekend. Another thing - my mom had a horrible 'attach' from bed bugs and it actually took almost a week for her bites to show up.

SO .... what did y'all think? We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!

Once I dug out my anti itch cream and keep it close I'm fine but before that it was itch city

Over all I enjoyed it- few parts were frustrating like the net climb and getting "stuck" behind people who couldn't easily do it, the lack of completion for the "clues" (course now i know I won't waste the time making sure everything was legible) the lack of choices of end of race snack (Princess 5K was much better!) the ineptitude of the restarauntsaurus staff but once the dust settles I'll probably run it again next year...

I loved everything but clue #2. That was beyond frustrating.
Bag claim wasn't terrible but I got there long after Emily probably did. They seemed to have a pretty good system down by the time I got there.

I wish there was more direction at the start, I had no idea how we were supposed to line up, luckily I didn't wait for them to announce to line up in Wave 3. But now I know! LOL

I also wish the participants didn't let their party going family members help with the scavenger hunt. I tripped over several strollers when trying to get to our location for the next clue.

Powerade, is disgusting..... Just sayin'

I would love to do it next year.

We had a great time! It was my best friend's first 5k and she did AWESOME! We had so much fun!

I, too, got frustrated with the clues, but I guess that is part of it! I loved being able to ride Everest and Kali Rapids over and over again (EVEN if we did get soaked and were freezing!).

The wave start was a little unorganized, but I think it went as well as could be expected.

We will definitely be back next year (as long as it isn't on Mother's Day Weekend again - my child was not happy that I was in Disney without her!

I got a couple of bites below my knees that appear to be from chiggers. Not sure if they were from EEC or from the stay at Fort Wilderness.

This was the 4th EEC for DD19 and Me. We weren't as fast as the first year, but we did manage to finish 48th out of 785 co-ed teams.

The weather was great this year - a little cooler than I expected. We will be back to do it again next year!

Yes, I got bit at the race. I love going in May, but I do need bug spray (or at least anti-itch cream).

We had most of the same complaints as others, but we will be back next year! Had a great time!
