Is there consensus that the monorail is NOT the way to go if we have early entry? We are staying at DLH. We have always stayed on Harbour before and entered via the esplanade.

I do not believe you will be able to get on the monorail before park opening, since it is an attraction and not really transportation. If you get up to be there for early entry I would not recommend using the monorail, I think you would end up wasting too much time.

Consensus? I do not think so. There are people who pop in to say how the Monorail worked fine for them during EE. But in general most would say that if you want to be towards the front of the crowds for EE you will be better off walking to the gates with everyone else. For me personally walking for EE from the DLH would be a no-brainer.

in my limited experience doing this, i didn't board until very shortly before park opening (non-EE day as i recall) and while I got to Tomorrowland about the same time most going through the main gate did, I had an uneasy feeling about it. others have told me it's more typical for the monorail to leave 10 minutes before park opening or so, but i don't know.

that coupled with the warning that if you miss the first monorail, it's pretty much all over anyway.

i would just assume walk to the main gate anyway (which is why i see no real value for the DLH in that respect)

Walk to the main gate. We stayed at the DLH in November and used the monorail for our first EE. The 1st monorail did not leave DTD until 9am. We were on the 2nd monorail (even though we were waiting in line at 8:00 am). We got into the park at 9:25, Nemo already had a 1.5 hr wait. The next morning (also EE) we decided to walk to the main gate. It was only 5-7 min walk. We got there at 8:15 am. We were in the park quickly enough to get on the 1st loading of Nemo.

I vote walk to main gate if want to utilize the entire EE hour.

Another main gate vote here. I tried the monorail for EE my last trip, in hopes of getting to Nemo quickly, but the line had already formed... It wasn't huge (by Nemo standards... 40 minutes or so), but still as an early riser and fast walker, I would have done better going to the main gate.

I thought I'd once read they load up the monorail before the park opens, then it leaves DTD just as the park was opening. That wasn't the case in November; It loaded at park opening.
