I thought this web site might be interesting for some of you to check out. For one thing, they're cheaper than a lot of the arrangements that Disney Floral charges for centrepieces. You can also try to make your own (maybe we'll see princessdisneybelle make Mickey heads out of fruit!). They have franchises everywhere:

We have one close by in Knoxville-- never have used them but looks neat:goodvibes

When they first came out I thought it was weird that someone came up with that idea and profited from it. Apparently they do well b/c they are all over the place. I have eaten fruit from one (DH's uncle had one), and it's nothing special, or maybe that's just me, I don't know. It's a great idea for something DIY, though (but then again, when I see something like this that I think I can do myself, it is hard to justify the cost). BUT I digress...

princessdisneybelle...I do expect to see your Mickey-heads made out of fruit now, though...roflmao!

:rotfl: Wow I was wondering how I could do that!

Great idea.....We sent one to our neighbors as a thankyou and they loved it!

Great idea! The problem is my Dad would have gone around and eaten all of the centerpieces! :rotfl:
That is why we didn't have fruit at our cocktail hour, he loses all self control around fruit. He loves fruit!

We have used Edible Arrangements a number of times and the results have been great! I went to a Wedding shower recently and they used them there as the centrepieces. The chocolate covered ones are especially my favorite!

FYI: I wasn't able to have a choc fountain or edible centerpieces with Disiney last may for our wedding. Not sure if the policy has changed. It was for sanitary reasons I was told. :)

I love these. Unfortunately we don't have a location up here in Alberta yet.

I think they would be great beside a chocolate fondue at a wedding. I might have to try making my own for our home reception.

Another idea I found for flower arrangements were italian wedding candy flowers. These are jordan almonds wrapped in cellophane and grouped to look like flowers. They have all kinds of different flowers and they look very pretty and surprisingly realistic. I think I might try to make some of these and replicate my bouquet to have something to throw at my home reception.

Alberta has one in Calgary, but it's definitely possible to make your own. It might even be worth buying one to see if they did anything special in assembling it!

After quoting the price on one of these for my sister's engagement party I ended up making one myself. It looked exactly the same and was a fraction of the price. Just prep the food the day before (put on the wood sticks) and squirt with lemon juice, then stick in your base the day of and ta-da!
