We rented a scooter for my Mom from Apple in May 2012 for 7 days. They were GREAT! I did everything online, never spoke to anyone. I made the online reservation about 8 months in advance, and didn't need a credit card to reserve. BUT you need to give them the credit card number about 3 days (I think) before you go, and I almost forgot to add the card number, so don't forget about that.
The scooter was at Bell Services at the Contemporary when we checked into BLT. When we checked out a week later we left it with Bell Services. Very easy. The scooter had a nice large basket, and the battery and cord stay in a velcro pocket on the seat back, so it's there if you ever need it. My Mom used the scooter every day, and we only charged it ONE time the whole week, because we kept forgetting. But she never lost more than 2 bars of power, so we were very impressed.
I would highly recommend Apple. That is not to take anything away from any other company, but we had no problems at all with Apple.
