My dd28 and her friend who is 24 are going to WDW the end of November for a quick 3 day trip just for the MVMCP. They are going to MK and Epcot. Both have Neurocardiogenic Syncope with POTS and my dd had PSVTs. Her friend said that she would have to rent a scooter because she can't do the walking - she's on medical leave from work because of the frequency of her passing out. She wants my dd to rent one as well but she is vrry sensitive about people making rude comments about healthy looking girls using the ECVs. She got this last year just using a GAC. Any thoughts to convince her to give it atry.

I was nervous, too, but it boiled down to not letting a bunch of [redacted] ruin MY magical vacation because of their own prejudices. I gave everyone the biggest smile I could muster, and decided to just let the [redacted] be [redacted] if it made them feel better.

And in the end, it turned out only one person was rude about it, and her kid was so cute that it was easy to laugh it off.

Will it be safe for your daughter's friend to operate a motorized vehicle if she is prone to black outs?

They are both prone to passing out - that's pretty much what happens with the NCG Syncope and POTS. Sitting is better than standing. However if they sit too long, it will affect the blood pressure when they stand- they have very low blood pressure. My dd has been dealing with this since Jr high - the other young lady just for a couple of years.
